CAPE CANAVERAL 1962

Image
Hi friends! Josi Tomàs writes you again. Do you like travel around the world?  I'm sure that the answer in 90% is "yes". I love travel but I haven't be able the opportunity of to meet a lot places yet. For example Cape Canaveral is one of them. I imagine myself in that place watching a space launch with my family. Maybe one day it will happen!!  Therefore, this new tutorial is inspired by this incredible place.   Firstly I made a colorful background using alcohol inks and then y get dirty with white acrylic paint drops. I repeat the previous process but at this time I don't dirty it because I stamped House Row 1 with black permanent ink and then cut it out. Next I stamped Mixed Media Marks #3 with the same colors I had use in the background but with "Distress ink". For the decoration I have used a piece of the previous stamped paper another with the Vintage Postcard both torn by hand. Also the pretty houses and the main stamp with a piece of tape.  ...

Falling Feathers by Samantha Read

Image
Hello, Samantha here today and I would like to share with you a page for my art journal. I wanted something a little different to my usual clean and bright colours but also I wanted some texture and contrast. So got busy with some distress inks and a spray to begin with..... I used the technique where you lay the distress ink down, spritz it with water and then mop up with the paper. For another colour and layer I used a spray. I then added more texture using gelatos and a stamp. I stamped the gorgeous butterfly girl stamp and the leaves on white card and coloured using watercolour paints. I also stamped some feathers on white card and coloured and stamped some directly on to the page. I finished off my page by adding some arty splats and some stars, there is also some subtle glitter on her wings which the camera didn't pick up.  Here are the wonderful stamps I used: Butterfly Girl #2 Textured Feathers Pencil Marks #3  I do hope you like my page, thanks so much for looking.  Hello arty friends, How are you? Today I’m going to show you what I do to use up some of the scraps most of us accumulate. I collect mine in a tin and when it starts to overflow it’s time to do some collaging! I also have quite a collection of these cute tags, perfect for the job. I stamped some images on book pages and some on the scraps, then cut them out. The next job is to look through the scraps and find bits that will go together.  I try to avoid straight lines, tearing the paper rather than cutting it and arranging it at angles. I also tend to work in one corner. If the background is colourful I chose an image that’s been stamped on a book page, and the other way round. Sometimes I add a little bit of background stamping. Little bits punched from the same paper scraps also work well. I arrange all the bits first, glue them down when I’m happy and then trim around the edges. Finally I stamped some words onto a piece of card and cut out the ones I wanted to use. Give it ...

Deco signboard for your craft room by Priss

Image
Hello Rubber Dance Friends,  It's me, Priss BlaFu ( @ARTful.Layers ) , and today I'm showing you this decorative signboard for your craft room or wherever you want to hang it.  For this project, I was inspired by April's mood board. Did you see it? Is gorgeous. Seeing the photo of the umbrella in the spring rains made me think of mushrooms. That's why I ran to get my set of  Textured Mushrooms  and started stamping them. You can find other inspirations with this stamp set here  and here . To make my sign I used a piece of cold-pressed watercolor paper and glued it onto a piece of cardboard to give it more support. Then I made a texture on my paper similar to a worn and slightly oxidized surface, for which I used my pastes with iron and liquids to oxidize it. I also irregularly stamped here and there some of my favorites stamps of the  Mixed Media Marks 3  set.   For the mushrooms, I previously painted a yupo paper with pink and yellow alcohol inks...
