Journal Page with Butterfly Girl #1 by Evelyn

Image
Hello lovely Rubber Dancer, it´s Evelyn here today! This is my last project for the Rubber Dance Design Team and I decided to use my most beloved stamp, the Butterfly Girl #1  on a artjournal page. I stamped the Butterfly Girl #1 with the help of my stamping platform on a watercolor paper. When the ink was dry I colored my stamped image with watersoluble inktense pencils and cut it out. Now I started to prepare my page with white Gesso, then I added some texture with modeling paste, I spreat through a stencil. When the paste was dry, I sprayed my page with water and sprinkled PaperArtsy infusion A Bit Jaded on top, added more water and dried it with my heating tool. Next I rubbed some of the new finnabair matte waxes on top of the rised parts of my surface. For my vocal point, the lovely Butterfly Girl #1 I needed a bright background to make it stand out, so I took white Gesso and rubbed it with my fingers to the middle of my page....

Journal Page with Butterfly Girl #2 by Evelyn

Image
Hello lovely Rubber Dancer! It´s Evelyn here today with a square page. I used the beautiful Butterfly Girl #2 . For my background I spreat finnabairs liquid acrylics in yellow, blue and green with water over my page. I dabbed some of the color through the lace stencil from Shawn petite away and dried the background. When everything was dry I used the Shawn petite scribble marks stencil to add some texture with black and white Gesso. Now I stamped one of the Round in Circles stamps with embossing ink and heat embossed with golden embossing powder.  For even more texture I stamped the Mix a Sentiment #2 stamp with embossing ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. The Butterfly Girl #2 I stamped on white cardstock and heat embossed her black. I fussy cut and colored her, matted her on white cardstock and adhered her with foam tape to the page. To ground her I glued some stripes of washi tape under her feet. To make her stand out more from th...

Square Page with Textured Flowers by Evelyn

Image
Hello and happy New Year dear Rubber Dancer, it´s Evelyn here today! I made a square page, size 15 x 15cm (about 6" x 6"). May be I´ll start a new art journal? What do you think?  For the background I tried out some cheap oil pastels I bought a while ago (well, not too good results, but okay).  I stamped some pattern for more interest with the Grungy Harlequin stamp. Then I used a stencil from PaperArtsy and some modeling paste to create some hanging leaves. When dry, I colored them with acrylic paints in various greens and yellow. Now I stamped the beautiful Textured Flowers and leaves and heat embossed them with black embossing powder. I drew in some stems and colored them with acrylic paints.  To set some highlights I used white Gesso and a white gel pen. I stamped my words from the Mix a Sentiment #1 stamp and the Journal Words on tissue and glued them down with matte medium. I then added a Small Grungy Butterfly, I had left over from a...

Art Journal Page with Grungy Butterflies by Evelyn

Image
Hello lovely Rubber Dance fans, it´s Evelyn here today! Today I want to share with you my art journal page, this time a very colorful and glittery one. I used my all time favourite Grungy Butterflies and Small Grungy Butterflies stamps. I started by tapping Distress Oxide stamp pads in mermaid lagoon, picked raspberry, blueprint sketch and twisted citron directly on my pre gessoed pages, spritzed them with water and dried them with my heat tool. I repeated the process until I was happy.  After this I gave both pages another coat of white Gesso. This toned the colors down a bit and also made them water resistable. Next I stamped the rings and the circles from the Grungy Stuff stamp set with VersaFine Clair Morning Mist on the left side to start my composition. To get even more texture I used the Mix a Sentiment #1 stamp with VersaFine Clair nocturne and stamped randomly to both sides of the page. Time for the lovely butterflies: I stamped one ...
