The Moon looks larger - Moonscape Card

Donna here today showing you how to make a moonscape card using just one of the awesome tree's off the Carved Whimsy Wood stamp set (which happens to be on sale in February).
First of all I grabbed a sheet of my beloved Strathmore Mixed Media paper and cut it down to size to fit a 5x7 card. I then took a post it note, drew a circle on it and then cut it out making sure that I kept a bit of the sticky bit on it!
I positioned the post it note circle on the paper and then used a blue and purple Distress Oxide with a blending tool to lay down the colour making sure not to disturb the circle. When I finished the blending I flicked a couple of drops of water on the paper and left it for a few seconds, then dried with the heat gun. I think this gives a really nice effect doesn't it.
I removed the circle and taking the blending tool once more just gently blended a little bit around the moon so it looked softer against the background.
I took the tree stamp from Carved Whimsy Wood (my favourite tree ever) and stamped it on the background in black Archival ink, doodling a bit around the bottom of it with a black fine liner pen to 'ground' it.
The finishing touch was to add a couple of sticker sentiments from Tim Holtz Clippings that very handily mentions the moon!
