Tree Love - A Chunkie ATC by Donna

Hi everyone,

It's Donna here today with some stamps from the new Carved Whimsy Wood stamp set which of course I love ;)

This is a very photo heavy post so grab yourself a cuppa and have a little nose through it! Apologies for some of the photo lighting as dark Winter days are not great for that are they!

All the details:

I have been very lucky to get my hands on these wonderful MDF Chunkie ATCs' from That's Crafty, they come in four different sizes but I've just used the smallest size for my creation. This is how they come, ready to be decorated any way you want.

I gave them a quick coat of That's Crafty! Multi Surface paints, there's no need for Gesso with these as they cover everything in the first coat. I was aiming for a sort of twilight effect with the colours I chose.

Next step was to stamp my favourite tree with Versamark and then emboss with a white embossing powder, any make will do but try and get one for fine details.

Once that was heated with the heat gun and allowed to cool off I then added a leaf stamp using black Archival ink to stamp with.

Now for the sides which were stamped with another leaf stamp and I added a pop of white to it using a Posca pen.

So because these are completely 3D it's entirely up to you which side you favour as the back or front or just keep turning it around to change the view! So this is the other side on which I stamped the toadstool/mushroom on and then proceeded to doodle and colour in with a mixture of the Posca pens.

Now I just had the top and bottom to do so another leaf stamp was used and once again I added a pop of white with the Posca pen.

Here you can see all the ATC Chunkie laid out. I also added some words from Tim Holtz Quote Chips for a finishing touch. I also used a fab little piece of Washi tape that was attached to an envelope with goodies inside that Bibi sent me. We are all little collectors aren't we, I know I look at absolutely everything and wonder how it can be recycled!

I adhered it all together using That's Crafty! Multi Purpose Glue and put to one side to dry thoroughly which doesn't take long at all.

Here's a picture of one of the sides

Here's a picture of of the top.

These Chunkie ATCs' are a great size and fitted the stamps from Carved Whimsy Wood perfectly. I just adore this set of stamps for everything nature related and yes I really am seriously addicted to using that bare tree stamp :)

Hope you like it
Donna xx

Hi Dorthe,
I don't sell the heart washi tape. I buy them (and other patterns) from a shop on Etsy just so I can decorate the shipping envelopes :-)
Wow! Looks fabulous! Chrisx
