Just Lion Around - Mixed Media Tag Tutorial by Shilpa

Hello Everyone,
Shilpa here,

Today, I would like to share with you a  mixed media tag with Rubber Dance Stamps. 



I've used Rubber Dance African Animals Stamp set here with few other stamps.

Let's see making procedure,


On thick white tag, I started stamping Text and Flourishes with black archival ink.




To create good base for my further layers, I applied Clear gesso to whole surface.



For texture layer, I applied Crackle paste through stencil and let it dry completely.




I wanted to used Charcoal here... to get the desired effect, I mixed Charcoal with Clear Gesso and water and applied to the tag




After drying first layer, I applied, yellow/ brown/ orange watercolors randomly to the surface.





I stamped Lion image on watercolor card.



I colored him with watercolors and cut it to adhere on the tag.



After adding sentiment "Just Lion around" from same stamp set, my tag was ready..
I enjoyed making this fun creation !!

CASology Challenge #213: Stitch - Card by Bibi

The cue word at the CASology challenge this week is STITCH, so without further ado - here's my card: Stamps used (all from Rubber Dance): Giraffe , Mannequin from Sew Sweet ,  X stitches from Stitch & Frame . Stamped with Archival Ink (coffee), coloured in with Distress inks (tea dye and mermaid lagoon). After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too.
