Feeling Groovy in Black and White
Good morning and happy Tuesday, it's Sue here and I'm happy to be sharing something that I very rarely make, a black and white card.
It's not often that I don't surround myself with colour, but I was die cutting some circles when I had a 'what if' moment.
I started by making an 8 x 8 gatefold card using a sheet of A3 black card and a scoreboard.
Then I turned one half of it white, and started to build up the layers. Because it all needed to look clean and crisp I was very subdued with my stitching. No wild colours, and I even trimmed the loose threads!
I was very glad to get to this stage. All those straight lines and no inky smudges were starting to get to me.
Then I made 2 sets of die cut circles from black and white card. If you look at them for too long you will be in my power.... The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday set.
The white one was stuck on the black half and vice versa. I'm thinking 'man card' woo hoo, always good to get one of those in the box. I think it has a real 60's feel to it.
Then I broke one of my strictest rules. I never ever make the insert until 5 minutes before the card needs to be in the post box. That way I give myself the opportunity to run around like a headless chicken muttering 'never again' But today, being a day of surprises, I finished off the inside. It's just three panels, and I've used the other fun stamps from the Happy Birthday set. I'll probably lose it now and spend the 5 minutes before the post box doing the chicken thing looking for it!
There's still a week for you to join in with our fabulous colour challenge - these are such happy colours. Have a wonderful week, and thanks very much for looking x
