August Challenge Honourable Mentions


Hi everyone! Many thanks to those who joined our August challenges! It is always exciting to look at all your lovely creative entries. We love all the inspiration!

Hello everyone and welcome to a new month and a brand new challenge here at the Rubber Dance blog!  For most of us up here in the north, June is the first month of summer and with summer come flowers in bright and happy colours. So, here you go - our three challenge colours for June and a not-so-very surprising (although optional) theme: We need to see you using all three colours for your entries. Atc´s Textured Birds by Verónica

Hi everyone, Verónica is here. Today I come with a colorful and fun series of Atc´s that I have made with the beautiful  Textured Birds set .  Let's go step by step, so you can cheer up and make your own.I hope you enjoy it and you like it, it is done with great affection. We cut watercolor paper that measures 3 1/2 inches by 2 1/2 inches, if you prefer in centimeters 8,9cm by 6,4 cm approximately. Now we create the backgrounds by coloring with watercolors, pigments, or inks. I have used pigments dissolved in water, to give it a watercolor effect. When they are ready and dry we apply textured paste with some stencils that we like. In my case Distress Textured Paste (crackle). We can use the embossing gun to speed up the process or let it dry. We continue, we are going to stamp these adorable and cute little birds with a waterproof ink. Comes one of the most relaxing and fun parts, the coloring. You can use what you have or what you are used to

Hello friends! It's February 15th and it is time for our first mid month Theme Challenge! Yeah! I am excited :-) Our theme this month is... *           Challenge Rules:            * Stamping must be obvious on your project .   You do not have to u se Rubber Dance stamps to participate. Y ou have to match our theme with your entry Max 3 entries per person.  Entry via the linking tool   with a direct link to your post (not just your blog).  No backlinking to projects posted prior to the start of our challenge. You may combine with other challenges, as many as you like. Mixed Media Art Journal Page by Lisa Rabellino

 Hi friends!  Lisa today and I'd love to share with you my new project for Rubber Dance design team with its fabulous stamps!  To start my page I glued a big piece of collage paper with gel medium. So I cutted a circle of patterned paper and I glued it in the middle of the page.  I brushed a coat of clear gesso and I took my Distress Crayons. I enjoyed using them with moistened fingers, playing with the same colors as the paper to blend it into the background. With a black watercolor pencil I marked the outline of the paper circle and I made scribbles to give a little contrast. Then I used Mixed Media Marks stamp set with archival ink to give more interest in the page.  On a piece of watercolor paper I stamped flowers from Inky Flowers stamps set and I coloured with Distress Crayons and water.  I glued the flowers as my focal point, I added a quote and finally I made splatters with white liquid paint.
