Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

 Hello arty friends! I was recently gifted a beautiful little junk journal by a friend and have been enjoying playing in it so this is one of the pages. This particular page is a envelope which I decorated. I also made a matching tag to go in the envelope. I started by embossing the envelope and envelope flap separately (I put some waste paper underneath so as to not emboss anywhere else). I made a tag from a piece of card and a gelli print. I embossed the tag using the smaller tree stamp and one of the shapes from the stamp set. I also embossed the edges. Next I added some black splatter, doodled around the edges with a black pen, added some "confetti" and apiece of string on the tag. Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here.  Some days I like to grab some stamps I haven't used for a while and just have a play.  Something Fishy is a great set for masculine makes so I decided to stamp one of the fish multiple times on a sheet of blue card using masking and blue ink. I felt it needed some texture so I used an embossing folder and lightly smeared the raised areas with grey ink.  Hello arty friends, how are you? Spring seems to have sprung in this part of the world, it's my favourite time of the year as I love all the spring blossom. I have a tag for you today (I seem to be into tags lately), hope you like it. I wanted to keep the background fairly simple and let the main image speak for itself. I used the "Flowers gone wild" set for this project. I started by stamping 2 of the images onto cream paper, using green embossing powder for one of them and brown embossing powder for the other, then cut them out. Next I stamped the sunflower on a piece of gel printed paper. As you can see I often use 3 colours and slightly blend them, that way you have a ready made colour scheme for a lot of stamps. This works especially well for flowers. I'm not really a lover of colouring in! I cut a tag from a piece of cream card and splattered some watered down gold paint on it.  Hello arty friends, how are you? It seems to have turned cold here so a good excuse to stay indoors and make some art. I have recently rescued a pile of packaging paper from a delivery and I thought I might use some of it. I cut some of it into A5 (ish) size. I used embossing ink, white embossing powder and some of the Doilie stamps to create a background. The embossing ink soaks into the brown paper quite quickly so I only did a few at a time. I stamped some of the Sketchy Birds onto watercolour paper, coloured them in with watercolours and cut them out (I forgot to take a photo at this point!) I created a branch by cutting out some black and white scrapbook paper and glueing it to the background.  Then I arranged the birds on the branch, used coloured pencils to add some shading and applied some Stickles glitter. I matted the whole page onto a darker background and added a quote sticker. These little birds really make me feel happy! Until next time, Hugs from Angie x Stamps...

 Hello arty friends, how are you? I've been very much inspired by all the collage fodder posts popping up on Instagram lately so I thought I would have a go at making some. Collage fodder really just means ready made embellishment pieces to use in your art. It's also great for using up all the bits and pieces we have laying around! I started off by white embossing on a piece of watercolour paper using a variety of background stamps. I cut this paper into different sized tags and then used watercolours to create simple backgrounds. As you can see, the white embossing creates a lovely resist. I then used leftover bits and pieces from previous projects to add interest. Next I added some background stamping, this time using black ink. and finally, some focal images.  These little pieces of art are really useful when you're art journaling, junk journaling, need to make a quick card or a tag. You can always add some writing, a quote, some doodling - whatever you feel like or need...

 Hello arty friends, how are you? I wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas by way of a tag. For this I started by embossing some stars with clear embossing powder onto my tag. Next I applied some Distress Oxides onto the tag in order to create a dark sky background. I've been trying to use up some of my many scraps of paper so I used these to stamp some houses, clouds and a moon, and cut them out. I arranged the individual houses on the tag, as well as the sky elements, and then glued everything down. I used my Stabilo pencil to outline the houses and went over the outlines with my waterbrush to give it a softer look. Finally I added a little bit of doodling, glitter, and a quote sticker. Happy Saturday Rubber Dance Friends,  let me quickly say something that is not related to my blog post itself. Corona is on everyone's lips, worldwide. We, the creative people who bring color into the world, should share this much more often. Send a card or a letter to a dear person you cannot meet right now. Handmade cards are something for the heart, we all know that, right? Please share some love when you can 💗 What about some Artist Trading Cards today? I use my Gelliplate very gladly and often. Thereby so many backgrounds are created, which I like to use, so also today for the ATCs.  First I used a stencil and structure paste. In the still wet paste I sprinkled embossing powder and heated it. This structure looks fabulous, doesn't it? Embossed stamp motifs on vellum always look wonderful, you can see the effects in the background and have a nice motif, very noble in the foreground.
