Five Little Fish by Samantha Read

Image
Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing another page ready for my art journal. It was really an experiment, I wanted to find out how embossing powder would look on the edges of torn card and I really liked the textured finish. The fish were originally going to be all the colours I could find but in the end they looked better all the same colour combination. Sometimes things don't go as we plan in our heads. I created the background using diluted distress inks and swishing the card in the inks. Using the Carved Collection #3 stamp set I added some background details. I then added gold embossing powder all along the edge. To create some bubbles I used some glittery embossing powder. This adds a really lovely shimmer and the silver glitter adds lovely contrast to the gold edges. I remember reading somewhere that gold and silver shouldn't be used together but I quite like it. I then stamped and coloured the fish I needed from the Textured Fishes stamp set. I used watercolour...

Birthday Tag by Angie Coomber

Image
Hi arty friends,  How are you? There are a lot of birthdays in our family in April and I have been making a fair few cards. I made this birthday tag as part of a set of gift vouchers for someone who loves the sea. I made a few gelli prints in the sort of colours I knew I wanted to use. I chose 2 of them which I used to cover a #8 tag. Next I embossed some “bubbles” on the top half of the tag. I chose the colours for my sea creatures, stamped the images I wanted and cut them out. I glued some of these on to the tag and used the rest on the pocket tag (which I recently made in a class). I added some white doodling and edged the tag with black Distress Ink, and finally adding some sari ribbon. Hopefully the recipient will like it... Until next time, hugs from Angie x Stamps used: Textured Sea Creatures Textured Fishes

Under The Sea Bokeh Card by Dot Leathbridge

Image
Hi everyone, Welcome to some underwater inspiration from me today  using the Textured Fishes stamp set. I've been eyeing off this Textured Fishes stamp set for a little while and thought that they might look good on a bokeh background. What do you think? I only used two colours, which  were chosen from our  Moodboard this month. Here are a couple of close-ups of the fish for you. This set has different sized fish facing different directions which makes it quite a versatile set to have  in your collection. The fish have all been coloured in with  alcohol markers and a circle was die-cut around them. All stamp sets from Rubber Dance come with extra elements for you to use. I've used some squirls in the background along with some bubbles near the fish. And of course some underwater weeds is also  handy to have. I hope you enjoyed seeing my card today. The stamp set used is: This set had everything in it that I wanted to use. Thanks so much for stopping...

Long time, no sea by Samantha Read

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing a card that is just for escapism of winter and Christmas creations. I used three stamp sets are Textured Fishes, Textured Sea Creatures and Whale Wishes. They work so well together. I simply stamped them on white card and coloured using watercolours. The layers of the card are created using a die and white card that I painted in two different turquoises. The white bubbles are made using embossing powder and I added glitter as a finishing touch. I almost forgot the 'Miss You' is from Sketch Flowers #2. Thanks so much for looking, have a lovely day, Sam :) Here are the stamps I used: Textured Fishes Textured Sea Creatures Whale Wishes and Sketchy Flowers #2 For more inspiration you can find Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge on Facebook right here .

Fish Bowl by Angie Coomber

Image
Hello arty friends, how are you all? I've just become the proud owner of a set of the Textured Fish stamps and of course I had to use them straightaway. I used my favourite technique of swiping Distress Oxides on my craft mat, spritzing with water and then mopping up the colour with white card. I absolutely love those vibrant colours. Then I stamped some of the images on the card - as you will see I only used a few of these in the end but it never hurts to have stamped images ready for next time, does it? I also cut these out of course. I created a background in my art journal using Distress Oxides and an applicator brush. I sketched a fish bowl on the page on the left and glued a piece of scrapbook paper to the other side. I cut out the fishbowl shape, then used this page as a template to lightly trace the outline on the coloured page. Next I arranged some of the fish and seaweed on the background and added a little bit of background stamping. I glued a piece of acetate to the ba...
