Tutorial Tuesday - A Gelli print card by Donna Gray
Hi everyone,
It's Donna here today with a Tutorial Tuesday which means loads of pictures for you ;)
I didn't really have a plan in mind when I started this card but for some weird reason it turned out with an Autumnal theme but the seasons appear so mixed up at the moment so I suppose why not?!
All the Details:
I pulled out this Gelli printed background from my stash and cut to the size to fit a 6x6 card. I usually use Decoart Paints for this as the media ones are very free flowing so a little goes a long way. The effect you see was achieved just by cutting rough circular shapes out of thick card and laying them on the paint on the Gelli plate before pulling the print.
As I was looking through all my Gelli prints I saw one that I thought would be perfect to stamp the toadstool from the Carved Whimsy Wood stamp set on. It's a nice easy one to fussy cut out too.
I thought I'd use one of these very lovely winged fairy creatures from a set called Flying Ink Bottle and coloured her in with some Mermaid Markers, then fussy cut her out as I intended to perch her on the toadstool.
I stamped one of the flowers also from Carved Whimsy Wood onto some Strathmore Mixed Media paper and coloured them in with a couple of Zig pens. I fussy cut them out as you can see and put them to one side to add to the background as a finishing touch.
I just had to include my favourite tree from the Carved Whimsy Wood set and I stamped it offset twice to the left and right side of the Gelli print.
I then added a little stamping with another flower stamp also from Carved Whimsy Wood with a green Archival ink pad to add a bit more to the background before I added the fussy cut images to it.
The next step was to add the toadstool and flowers onto the background, ready for the 'fairy' to sit happily upon the toadstool.
So as you can see on the final photo I added a couple of bits of leaf themed Washi tape with some sentiments from Tim Holtz which created a nice finishing touch. Oh and you can see I also drew a small crown and placed it on her head as I just thought she deserved it....and why not?!
This time my Saffie decided to photobomb the picture I was trying to take in the rare bit of sun we've had here lately....never work with Ragdoll cats are they love being the centre of attention!!
Hope you like it

Saffie has a rather priceless look on her face as well, can't decide what she's thinking!

Well done to Saffie for finding the Sunshine, cats will always let you know where the warmest of spots are.
