Come Fly With Me Tag by Dot

Image
Hello everyone, today I'm showing a tag that has been made for my tag journal. Rubber Dance have some really gorgeous butterflies in their range. These butterflies are called Butterfly Trio  and they have a lovely zentangle pattern in the design. This makes it great for colouring.   Here is a look at the background before anything was added to it. There was some oxides swiped from the craft sheet, followed by stenciling using the same colour. Through another stencil I applied texture paste. Then stamped Weed Love . I added some hearts from Friends Fur-ever later on. This next pic gives you an idea of how the butterflies have been coloured. Again, swiping oxides from my craft sheet, remembering to dry between layers. It looks messy! I agree. But once you cut them out they will look totally different. The colours are from our mood board this month, so too are the butterflies. A white paint pen has been used to fill in some ...

Flying Ink Bottle card

Image
Hi Everyone, Chantal here. Today I played with my new Rubber Dance stamps Flying Ink Bottle She is so cute with that bottle! I used distress oxide and water to create the background. With stencils and red distress ink I added more detail to the background. For the words "wings" and "fly" I've used Vintage Photo distress ink. Stamp the ink lady directly onto your card. Stamp the ink lady again onto white paper and the inkpot and the feathers, cut them out and color them with red and yellow. I hope that you like my card! Have a nice day Chantal

Come Fly With Me- art journal page for Tutorial Tuesday with Asia

Image
Welcome back! Happy to see you on Rubber Dance blog and hopefully you'd like what I've prepared for you today:) It's an easy page, but this is also my favourite type of art journaling. It does not always have to be complicated to look good;)  I decided to make a short video of the whole process for you  to watch step-by-step how I created this page. It was a last, undone page in my art journal and well, it was pink as it was an inside cover. To get rid of this pink colour I decided to do a small trick and glued a piece of scrapbooking paper on it. The paper is very subtle in its design and the colours were perfectly matching what I had in mind. I love brown, vintage looking pages and I had the stamps to just match it perfectly! I used 3 beautiful sets of stamps from Rubber Dance- I love working with them and I come back to them once in a while:) The sets are: Stitch & Frame, Round in Circles and Flying Ink Bottle.  So I did some stamping, some masking an...

CAS-ual Friday: ATC by Melina

Image
Hello! It´s Melina here today on CASual Friday with a cute little ATC to share. I stamped the Flying Ink Bottle girl on a piece of photopaper that I have coloured  with Distress Oxide inks. I stamped her once again on a red scrap piece of paper and cut out the wings and label for the ink bottle. I glued them into place. Then I just stamped the quote from the same stamp set and doodled around the edges  and my ATC was finished. I really love this stamp! Rubber Dance stamps used: Flying Ink Bottle Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend :) Thank you so much for stopping by today! xx Melina

Tutorial Tuesday - A Gelli print card by Donna Gray

Image
Hi everyone, It's Donna here today with a Tutorial Tuesday which means loads of pictures for you ;) I didn't really have a plan in mind when I started this card but for some weird reason it turned out with an Autumnal theme but the seasons appear so mixed up at the moment so I suppose why not?! All the Details: I pulled out this Gelli printed background from my stash and cut to the size to fit a 6x6 card. I usually use  Decoart Paints  for this as the media ones are very free flowing so a little goes a long way. The effect you see was achieved just by cutting rough circular shapes out of thick card and laying them on the paint on the Gelli plate before pulling the print. As I was looking through all my Gelli prints I saw one that I thought would be perfect to stamp the toadstool from the  Carved Whimsy Wood  stamp set on. It's a nice easy one to fussy cut out too. I thought I'd use one of these very lovely winged fairy creatures from a s...

Come fly with me - a summer tag with nostalic batik

Image
Hello and welcome, Anita from the Design Team here today to show you a tag I've made with a pretty cool technique. I have to admit that I'm very very ready for vacation now so I feel that everything I'm doing now has something to do with summer and holiday. Come fly with me on a summer holiday 😃 But it really fits well as it is the theme of the month's Challenge. Here is a step by step how I did this tag: I started by stamping and embossing all over my tag with the Grungy swirls stamp, Distress Ink in colour pomice stone and clear embossing powder Then I heatset it And coloured it with Distress Ink in colours Mustard Seed, Mowed Lavn and Salty Ocean. The embossing is a resist for Distress ink. And now to the cool technique ; Take two sheets of newsprint paper, on e over and one underneath, heat up your iron (not steam) When the iron is burning hot iron the tag with the newsprint over and below, as showed on ...
