Birthday Wishes from the Stars

Hello.  Gail from the design team here today with some more inspiration for the Rubber Dance colour challenge.  

I've used Bohemian Woman for my main image, Milky Way for the background and the sentiment is from Happy Birthday

I made a resist background by stamping the image from Milky Way with Versamark ink and embossing with white powder.  Then I gave it a watercolour wash with Worn Lipstick distress ink.  Any ink wipes off the embossing to give this pretty contrast.   



I stamped and embossed Bohemian Woman with black embossing powder.  I coloured her with distress inks, sharpies and a gold pilot pen.  I cut round the image and added a red mat.  The sentiment was black embossed on red card and I used a red card base.

CASology Challenge #213: Stitch - Card by Bibi

The cue word at the CASology challenge this week is STITCH, so without further ado - here's my card: Stamps used (all from Rubber Dance): Giraffe , Mannequin from Sew Sweet ,  X stitches from Stitch & Frame . Stamped with Archival Ink (coffee), coloured in with Distress inks (tea dye and mermaid lagoon). After all, fall/autumn is all around us (here in the north, anyway), and we do love its glorious colours! We hope you do, too, when you create an entry (or three) for our October Challenge: Did you know that "fall" is an Old English word? It replaced the word 'harvest' in the early 1600s as more people started moving into cities. City dwellers began to use the phrase 'fall of the leaf'' and, over time, the phrase was shortened to fall. Surprisingly, etymologists don’t know where the word "autumn" comes from. It was used as far back at the 1300s (by Chaucer), and Shakespeare often used the word, too.
