Vintage Style Christmas Cards by Angie Coomber

Image
Hello arty friends, how are you all?  We really are hurtling towards Christmas, aren't we? I have made a couple of Christmas cards this time, I'm trying to be very organised this year. First I stamped theses lovely Poinsettias onto red and green scrapbook paper, book pages and ledger paper. I have some lovely old ledger paper that I used for these cards, both for the background and some of the images. I cut out the stamped images (I ended up with a good supply so that I can make more cards). I cut some squares from the ledger paper for the backgrounds and then glued the flowers and leaves onto them. Next I matted these onto some coloured card, glued them onto my card blanks and added some Tim Holtz Christmas Quote sticker. Now I'm off to make more!  Please excuse the poor picture quality this time, the weather has been absolutely awful here and it's almost impossible to find some good light! Until next time, hugs from Angie x Stamps used: Textured Christmas Green

“Home is not a Place” by Angie Coomber

Hello arty friends, How are you? I have been playing with my set of Happy Place stamps lately and here’s what I made for you. First I stamped my house onto some watercolour paper.  I coloured the image in using watercolours. Next I added some shading using water soluble pencils and a water brush, then cut out the image. I used a background stamp on a piece of gelli print,  cut it out and glued this and the coloured image onto a vintage book page. I embossed a quote at the bottom of the book page, then cut the page into a smaller rectangle and matted it onto a piece of red card. I also used a paper punch to create some hearts from the same piece of card and glued them onto the card.  Finally I glued the whole thing onto a white card. I hope you like it! "You don't have to be perfect" by Angie Coomber

Hello arty friends, how is your weekend going? I hope you're all well. To make this card, I started by stamping the images on watercolour paper, colouring them in, then cutting them out. I cut a 5 inch mat from a piece of blue background left over from another project, and a 4.5 inch piece of white card for the background. I stamped/embossed the sentiment on the white card, then arranged my images on it and glued them down. I then decided to add some colour to the edges of the white card using pink embossing powder to match the colour of the dress. I glued everything onto the card and added some gold accents with a gel pen. Hope you like it! Until next time, hugs from Angie x Stamps used: What a girl wants Flowers gone wild

Retro Birthday Card by Angie Coomber

Hello arty friends, how are you? I was playing with the Pencil Marks #5 set recently and loved the retro vibe one of the stamps was giving me so I thought I'd make something for the blog. I used my favourite Distress Oxide technique to create some backgrounds (you can never have enough backgrounds, right?!). I just swipe a few colours on my craft mat, spritz with water and mop up with card or paper until I like the effect. You have to experiment a little bit - some papers work better than others. I chose a yellow piece for the background and cut it into a square to fit my card. Then I picked 3 complimentary colours for the circles and stamped 3 of each colour. Next I stamped 3 lines on the background for the circles to sit on. I cut out the  circles and glued them onto the background - I experimented until I liked the layout. After that I felt like the card needed something else, and eventually I decided to stamp another one of the images from the set onto the same yellow car...
