Beach Ahoy by Ellie Knol

Image
On this card I tried to create waves by tearing the paper horizontally, and adhering the ships on and between these waves.  White heat embossed script, birds and postal cancel stamp on the dark and colorful background creates more interest.  Just a little color added to the fussycut stamped images with PanPastel make them pop a little.  See you next time, Ellie.    Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop AHOY Vintage P:ostcard Vintage Script

Colorful Rainbow Foliage Card by Ellie Knol

Image
Hi, Ellie here..  Playing with stamps and color is like going on a journey. You start and end up making a unique creation!  This card started out with watercolor paints that were on my palette all mixed up, and I wanted to clean it: what better way as to make some rainbow colored cards?  I covered it with household wrap until it was dry.  The fun part was to play with stamps and fill up the surface. The how to:  - stamp and heat emboss some background stamps in white as shown. - mask off the white squares, and by masking the image the second time, stamp the images one in front of the other with a black ink.  - add touches of color to the images and the tiny squares for more interest and of course to create the focal point.  - Add black stamped script to the background.  - Draw with a white acrylic marker around the images to make them pop more.  - distress the edges with a paper-distresser. -  assemble the card front to a card base. Mixed Media Pillowbox

Image
Hey Rubber Dance friends. Who doesn't like to give away a little something that is also nicely packaged? With these little pillow boxes it's easy, isn't it? I used gel prints with my plotter and cut out the boxes, stamped and heat embossed them.  Decorating with different stamps is so easy. The mushrooms fit perfectly into the autumn season and I like them a lot. I processed them differently: once stamped on grey card, once embossed on vellum and once stamped on gel print. I always cut everything out and put it together. Do you like it? Sketchy Flowery Heart shapes by Ellie Knol

Image
Remember this "Art Journaling with Sketchy images and marks" post?  I used the images with the black heat embossing on the journal spread in that post. As I wamted to know what the journal pages were going to look like with white heat embossed images, I also created these inky backgrounds with the flowers on it.  I chose to use the black stamped images for the heart shapes on the art journal spread, so had these lying around. A very beautiful leftover, so to speak..   I decided to use these on cards.  For the base of the heart I created a background. I stamped script with red ink into wet golden modelling paste.  It makes it so shiny and beautiful! A thread around the bottom of the heart finishes it off.  I did the same for this second card, now with another one of the flowers from the Sketchy Flowers Stamp set.  I added a transparant button to which I adhered part of the leftover background (from the golden modelling paste) on the back of it....

Image
Hello Rubber Dance Friends, it's Dunja today to show you some easy and fun Mixed Media Tags. I'm using a sheet of Gelprint, it's A4 size and I cut out four tags 2.5" wide. The Grungy Butterflies are awesome and they made it to todays Tags. I've just stamped them onto my leftover from the Gelprint and cut them out.  In the background I used another stencil, texture paste and embossing powder on the gel print, this gives more dimension. I also used the  Journal Words   as well the Grungy Stuff and StazOn Inks I hope you like the Mixed Media Tags :) You can use them for a little gift in spring, for easter, ...whatever you like :) The Sentiments I've used are from the Mix A Sentiment #1 and Mix A Sentiment #2 Stampsets Enjoy your day, happy crafting everyone and do not miss to join our Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge on Facebook. :)) I've used all these stamps on my Tags: Mix A Sentiment #1 Mix A Sentiment #2 Journal Words Small Grungy Butterflies Grungy Stuff...

Wingy Happiness with Inky Friends by Ellie Knol

Image
Creating these 2 cards was a process.. one I had to rethink and changing it in the end.  I started by creating a background with pigment crystals (Infusions).  I decided I would use fussy cut images and therefore stamped the images onto the background so I did not have to fussy cut the thinner parts of the image.  I then decided I wanted to see what would happen when adding yellow with a watercolor pencil; I liked it so much that the fussycut images were put in my stash for later use.    To make the image pop I fussycut one side of the images very carefully so one of the wings could turn open....   .. added a white diecut, and a stamped image onto thin paper and adhered at the back of the cardstock.  Of course the white acrylic marker also adds to that.  As you can see I also added white heat embossing after masking the images with a sticky paper. That makes the images three dimensional a little..   **** This second card has been cr...

Stitched Artist Trading Cards

Image
Hello Rubber Dance Friends, i'm back with some Artist Trading Cards today.  I used Gelliprint with good ink coverage. Only for one reason, I stamped the designs in white on vellum and then sewed them onto the gel prints. They are very delicate in the color still visible.  The Inky Flowers and the new Sketchy Flowers are so adorable, i love them much. Don't miss our  Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge  on Facebook, to meet creative people, find inspirations and have a little chat. We look forward to meet you :)) Happy crafting Dunja xx
