Greeting Card with Distress Inks by Susanne

Image
Hi my dear stamping friends! I'm sharing a easy to make greeting card today that I've made with Distress Inks and the lovely Twiggy Leaves stamps from Rubber Dance. I applied the Distress Inks to a piece of mixed media cardstock with the round blending tool. I picked some autumn colours (Picked Raspberry, Dusty Concord and Spiced Marmalade). I sprinkled the background with some water droplets. The ink is reactivated by the water, and after 20 seconds I soak up the water with a dry cloth.  I stamped some of the leaves with Memento Dye Inks in different colours. I cut the card at an angle and placed it on the card base to measure where my greeting was going. After I stamped the "Happy Birthday" from the Bonny Bunny stamp set onto the card base and used 3D foam dots to adhere my Distressed leaf design.  I hope you like my card! Have a wonderful and crafty weekend! Susanne Supplies: Rubber Dance: ...

CASual Friday - Pearfect card with watercolours

Image
Hello everyone! It´s Melina here today with a CAS card to share. Hope you are all fine and not too hot this warm summer! We have had the most dry and hot summer here in Sweden for 160 years  I think they said on the radio... Back to the card, and here´s what I did: I stamped the small pear and masked it off before stamping the bigger pear  from The Pearfect Pear stamp set. I also stamped the word  hello from the  Just a Note stamp set.  When completely dry I coloured the card with Prima watercolours. As a final touch I drew a thin, black line to frame it. I really love these pears and have another idea how to use them, but that  will have to wait to another blog post :) Thanks for stopping by today! xx Melina Rubber Dance stamps used: The Pearfect Pear Just a Note

CAS Friday - Dot Leathbridge

Image
Hi everyone, It's Dot here today sharing a card made for CAS Friday.  This stamp set, called Floral Wreath , has heaps of extra little elements in the set which I couldn't resist playing with.   It was so much fun to just add a little bit here, and a little bit there ... it is such a beautiful stamp set. I had some left over inked up card that I used for the flowers. A little blending and stenciling and before you know it, not much else is needed to make this card. Stamps used were all from the one set:  Floral Wreath I hope you enjoy my card. Dot x

CAS-ual Friday - A simple fishy card by Donna Gray.

Image
Hi everyone, It's Donna here today with a very simple card for you featuring one of my favourite fishy stamp sets at the moment :) Isn't he just a cutie with his toothy grin?! I stamped the fish from  Fish Diet  onto a piece of water colour paper and then used blue and green Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers to colour him in, using a water brush to dilute the colours. Then using the ticket stamp from the  Stitch and Frame  stamp set I stamped it onto more watercolour paper and used a couple of Distress Inks to age it slightly. Both the images were fussy cut out which for the fish took a little while! All that was left to do was add a Tim Holtz sticker sentiment and adhere the fish and ticket to the Kraft card using foam pads. A simple card but when the image is this cute I wanted him as the star! Stamps Used: Stitch and Frame Fish Diet Hope you like it Donna xx

CAS-ual Friday: Birthday Card by Sue

Image
Good afternoon and happy Friday 13th! It's Sue here, and it's my turn to share my CAS-ual Friday project.  I've made a birthday card 'cos birthdays never go out of fashion, in fact I've had lots, and lots, and lots ... It may not be high tech, but I like it, and more importantly it could be used as a Man Card - I know, that's almost a swear word isn't it! I won't blind you with the science of how this was made ;-) suffice to say small ink pads were used. I've deliberately made the lines a bit wonky 'cos I think that people would pay extra for that! I've used stamps from  Merry Magpie  and Happy Birthday   All of the wonderful stamps can be found here. Have a very happy weekend - no walking under ladders, and be kind to black cats.  Thanks very much for looking x Merry Magpie Happy Birthday ...

CAS-ual Friday card with Asia

Hello everyone and happy Friday to you all!  Weekend is almost here, so cool! And today I wanted to show you an easy and quick card I've created with gorgeous Rubber Dance stamps sets- Antique Botanicals, Think Again & Crazy Flowers #2. As I said before the card is really easy to make- perfect project for Friday evening;) You need a cardstock, background layer of paper which I painted in yellow and green and white top layer of paper. I stamped the flowers and leaves on the watercolor paper and before I fussy-cut them I added the colors. Firstly I sprayed on some water, then applied Lindy's sprays with a brush. I added few shades of each colors to get more watercolor effect and after drying it all I fussy cut it. Flowers were adhered to the card with 3D foam tape, leaves- with a tacky glue and this way I got more dimension. Then I added some navy blue berries, few drops of Glossy accents which looks like a morning dew and a word "Love...

CAS-ual Friday: ATC by Melina

Image
Hello! It´s Melina here today on CASual Friday with a cute little ATC to share. I stamped the Flying Ink Bottle girl on a piece of photopaper that I have coloured  with Distress Oxide inks. I stamped her once again on a red scrap piece of paper and cut out the wings and label for the ink bottle. I glued them into place. Then I just stamped the quote from the same stamp set and doodled around the edges  and my ATC was finished. I really love this stamp! Rubber Dance stamps used: Flying Ink Bottle Hope you will all have a wonderful weekend :) Thank you so much for stopping by today! xx Melina

CAS-ual Friday: Birthday Card by Bibi

Image
Welcome to another CAS-ual Friday with Rubber Dance stamps! CAS stands for C lean A nd S imple. In most cases that means using just a few stamps, leaving a lot of white around the stamped images. That part might feel intimidating to many cardmakers, myself included when I tried the CAS style for the first time a couple of years ago. The more CAS card I made, the easier I found it, though. Goes with everything new we try, doesn't it? For today's CAS card, I've used a stamp that you have never seen before! This gorgeous hydrangea flower with birthday sentiment (and more) will be released on the 2nd of June, so here's just a little nibble ... I coloured the stamp with watercolour markers, gave it a light mist of water and stamped it on watercolour paper. I filled in just a few petals and both leaves, using markers and a paint brush. For the sentiment, I also used markers on the stamp - but no water for a crisp impression. This stamp set will be available in t...

CAS-ual Friday- set of ATC's with Asia

Image
Hi everyone, So it's Friday today and it's my pleasure to show you my project with Rubber Dance stamps. I create a set of ATC's which are easy to made. I have tons of leftover papers laying around my very small craft space, so even though I don't know in many cases what kind of paint I used on them, I decided to finally use some of them. I took a paper painted in different shades of blues and purples and stamped with an ATC sized-stamp Vintage Lace. I added some paper straws cut through the middle so they are not to bulky and on another piece of paper (this time in shades of pink, red and yellow) stamped few butterflies from Antique Botanicals collection, then fussy-cut them, put this layer of Glossy Accents on their wings for some shine and glue them to the cards. The words come from Affirmation stamp- I used Archival ink to stamp them on white paper. And here are the ATC's: Rubber Dance stamps used: Thank you for dropping...

CASual Friday - Gelli print sticker card - by Donna Gray

Image
Hi everyone, It's Donna here today with a card made by Gelli printing on some sticky labels....great fun! I used a roll of inexpensive white labels for this from a well known supermarket and prepared my 6x6 Gelli plate exactly how I normally do, on this occasion I used some  Fresco paints  and my absolute favourite stencil of the moment from That's Crafty! called  Random Ovals . I brayered the paints on the Gelli plate and placed the stencil on top, then I pressed a piece of scrap paper over the top over the stencil to absorb the excess paint, then removed the stencil and pressed the stickers on the Gelli plate to pick up the print. It dries really quickly then you can choose which stamps you'd like to use on your sticky label background. For this I chose the sun and moon from the  Whimsical Summer  stamp set and the  Celestial Dancer 1  and stamped them on each of the sticky labels with black Archival ink. Then all I had to do was pull ...

Just Keep Swimming - A Clean and Simple Card by Sue

Image
Hello and welcome to C&S Friday! It's Sue here with a fishy card. Now I must admit that clean and simple does scare me a little, and I did have a bit of a false start (I stamped my sentiment upside down) but I'm really happy with how it turned out. I just masked off the top and bottom of my card with removable magic tape then blended a Distress Ink panel. Then I stencilled gesso through a circle stencil, and carfully removed the tape. So far so good! This is where the stamping platform really comes into it's own. I could stamp my fish, and if they didn't take too well over the gesso I can just re-stamp. I know it's C&S, but adding a layer isn't banned (I checked) but I did keep my stitching neat, and black (I think magenta would have looked nice ;-) ) The sentiment is also from the Something Fishy  plate. Stamps Used Something Fishy I have to say that C&S is growing on me, and I really enjoyed making this. Have a lovely day, and...

CASual Friday - Card with Lindy´s Magicals on photopaper by Melina

Image
Hello! It´s Melina here today on CASual Friday with a really quick and simple card. I´ve had this thing for using photopaper lately, and I just love how vibrant the colours get! I used a honeycomb stencil by That´s Crafty, taped it down over a piece of photopaper and then just sprayed 2 different colours of Lindy´s Magicals over it. I have these tiny spray bottles that are great if you want to use your Magicals or Brushos as sprays instead of powder... When dry I stamped the bee from Beautiful Bugs and the quote from Think Again  using StazOn black ink. I adhered my photopaper onto black cardstock  and then on my card base and the card is finished. Thanks for stopping by today, and hope you´ll get a wonderful weekend! xx Melina Rubber Dance stamps used: Beautiful Bugs Think Again Others: Lindy´s Magicals: pineapple paradise, mango mania StazOn jet black That´s Crafty stencil tc7021

CASual Friday - Using Watercolour Pencils by Dot

Image
Hi everyone, it's time for CASual Friday (Clean and Simple) here at Rubber Dance. I've sat down and had a play with some of my favourite stamps and some watercolour pencils. It's surprising how quickly the time flies by when you just sit and colour! I've used stamps from Textured Spring and Textured Flowers for this card.  And the words are from Just A Note. This card kind of has an Easter feel to it, but Easter is chocolate right? And chocolate is for anytime of the year. I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it.  Thank you for stopping by.  Wishing you a wonderful weekend (and, please, eat as much chocolate as you need to).
