Wintery tree hanging by Donna Gray.

Hi everyone,

It's Donna here today and I thought as we're nearly into Winter now (shudder) then it's time for a Wintery creation.

I took a really thick piece of cardboard and covered it with a layer of white Decoart Crackle paint and set it aside to air dry.

While that was drying, I stamped the awesome tree from Carved Whimsy Wood onto a scrap of Gelli printed paper and fussy cut it out.

When the background had dried and cracked, I added the tree to the background and started to add all the other pieces too. Under the tree is a lollipop stick covered with sand texture paste and painted with rusty coloured acrylic paints. Another little strip of Gelli printed paper was added below the lollipop stick.

I cut a little piece of Calico fabric out and then added a heart cut from some painted scrap paper.

The finishing touches were to add a small metal disc, some twine and some sentiments from Tim Holtz. I used my Cropodile to make the holes for the hanging, added the eyelets and used a piece of thick twine to hang it up with.

There you have my very Wintery tree just in time for the first biting winds, frost, snow, ice etc etc :)

Hope you like it

This is really lovely Donna, and well done for fussy cutting the tree!. I don't know what happened to Autumn, but we seem to be heading for Winter really quickly! xx

I don't love winter, but I do love your wintery tree decoration! The contrast between the warm brown elements on top of the cold white crackle background look really lovely, and that tree stamp is a big fave. Just gorgeous! Thank you so much for sharing! ♥ ♥ ♥
