Art journal page - combine your stamps, tutorial by Melina

Hello everyone!

Today I have a tutorial for you, giving an example on how you can combine
your Rubber Dance stamp sets and create your very own quirky characters.
This is the art journal page I created.

A tip is to take out your stamps, let your imagination flow and just stamp on a scrap
piece of paper without masking or anything - just to see if you find a useful combination.
This is what my scrap paper looked like...

Here´s the steps:

Glue down a piece of gelli printed paper with gel medium
(or use pattern paper / make your own background)

Stamp the owl from Carved Fox & Owl with a permanent ink,
I used Versafine Onyx black.

Mask off the owl and stamp the feathers from the Dreamcatcher twice.

Draw a pencil line to make a fat little body to the owl, and when happy
fill in the line with black Posca pen (or another permanent marker).
Draw the feet, nothing too complicated - it just adds to the quirkyness ;)

Follow the same steps and stamp the Fox, mask it off and stamp one of
the trees from Four Seasons as the body.

Draw a black line for a finished look where the mask was.

Mask off the fox. Mask off the Hedgehog and ink up the lower part of the stamp.

This is what it looks like now.

Fill in the missing parts with a permanent fineliner pen and add feet.
Again, nothing too perfect!

Mask off the fox again and stamp the "tail", that is one of the wings
from the Dreamcatcher stamp set.

Stamp the leaves from the Four Seasons stamp set and add the quote from the
Carved Fox & Owl stamp set.

Make your characters pop by adding a little colour to them.
I used the Distress Markers and a waterbrush.
Add a few highlights with a white Posca pen, draw a scribbly frame
 and the page is done.

Rubber Dance stamps used:
Carved Fox & Owl (you have until tomorrow to get them on a 20% discount)

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
It would be lovely if you join us in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge
Facebook group. This is the new place for our challenges.

This is absolutely fantastic, Melina! I love how you've combined the stamps, such as the tree top for the fox's body and feather for its tail - brilliant!! It's really fun to play with stamps this way and I think you've done a fab job at it! Thank you so much for showing us how you made your beautiful art journal page! ♥ ♥ ♥
Amazing and so creative! Love it, thanks for the tutorial!

Love it!

I could’ve sworn I’d already left a comment on here but I can’t see it!! Anyway you know how much I adore this work of art Melina, it’s so delightfully fun and quirky and the animals look amazing with their funky bodies!
