Simplicity Sunday - A Birthday Card by Sue

Hello and happy Sunday, it's Sue here with my first card for our new Simplicity Sunday feature. Sometimes we get a bit carried away with new techniques so it was nice to get back to basics, and I ended up with a card that I really like so that's a result!

The background has been made with Distress Oxides in Salty Ocean and Broken China that's just been swooshed and spritzed on a craft mat. If you don't get enough ink onto the card with the first layer make sure to keep drying it before re-dipping.
I used a blending tool but with ordinary Distress Inks in Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade and covered a couple of pieces of A5 stamping card. I find this size easier to work with than A4. Then I  stamped two of the flowers from Crazy Flowers 1 and embossed in black. These are really easy  to cut out, but I cheated with one of the flowers and used a round scallop edge die.
The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday set and has been coloured with Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink. Then a bit of matting and layering and we're all done and the card's in the box!

And finally... cuteness alert, this is the inspiration photo for our March challenge - unfortunately the winner doesn't get to keep the cute kitties, but you do have until the end of the month to enter.
Have a wonderful day, and thanks very much for looking xx

Beautiful card, Sue! Nice idea using a scallop punch for some of the flowers - they get an extra round of flower petals! Thank you for sharing! ♥ ♥ ♥
Love this Sue, beautiful colours and a lovely happy vibe to it as well
