Simplicity Sunday - Retro Butterfly Girl

Image
Hi everyone, It's Dot here with a card that is mainly stamping and a little stenciling.  For this card I've teamed up a stamp from Grungy Borders to create a filmstrip effect, with the star from Grungy Stuff and smaller stars from From Moo To You .  Then added in some of my all-time favourites, Round In Circles and the Butterfly Girl . The stamps do all the work on this one, with just a touch of stenciling in the background. The new stamps are fun to play with! There is still a little time left for you to pop something into our monthly challenge over in our facebook group  - Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge.                            Happy Stamping, Dot x

Hello! It´s Melina here today with a quick little Sunday inspiration for you. It´s my first post on the blog this year - hope you have missed me ;) LOL I´m so happy to stay on the team and I wish to give all my new teamies a  very warm welcome! I have been on the team for several years now, and  Rubber Dance has a really special place in my heart. Due to personal stuff, Susanne has kindly enough agreed to let me stay on the team on my own terms. This means I will not appear on the blog  regularly, but as often as I can. You will of course find me in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge , where I so much enjoy to see all your awesome projects using Rubber Dance stamps! These are the coins I want to share with you today, and a quick description. I use the That´s Crafty! greyboard coins and give them a layer of gesso. I cut three circular pieces of gelliprints and glue them down using gel medium. I do the background stamping using the le...

ATCoins turned into Christmas gift labels by Melina

Image
Hello! It´s Melina here today sharing a little idea on how to use all those coins  you are creating. I know, they are addictive, aren´t they!? Christmas is getting closer, and I had this idea to use coins as Christmas tree ornaments or labels. You can give away a little piece of your art as a label on the present,  and then the recipient can hang it in the Christmas tree if she or he wish to. I kept these ones simple because it´s a Simplicity Sunday blog post, but clearly you can go totally nuts with embellishments and glitter on the coins for this purpose ;) For these coins I used the Whimsical Winter stamp set. I stamped with Memento ink and used my Chameleon alcohol markers to colour them in. Added some splatters with diluted  gesso as a final step. The coins are greyboard coins from That´s Crafty! Thank you so much for stopping by today, and hope you liked my idea on how to use coins as gift labels and/or Chri...

Simplicity Sunday - easy journal spread by Melina

Image
Hello! It´s Melina here today sharing a really easy and simple journal spread on this Simplicity Sunday. Hope you enjoy your weekend and are up for some creating! This is one of my really small journals. I often use it to mop up leftover paint from other projects. So, I already had some green and orange going on in the background. I took out my Round in Circles stamp set and started playing. I stamped with different stamps from the set using green, orange, turquoise, red and  brown Distress Oxides. I made some white and black splatters and drew a black  line to frame the spread. For the focal point I just piled up some scrap pieces of  old book paper and added a sentiment from Tim Holtz. Here are some close-ups for you. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and hope you found some inspiration from my simple, grungy journal spread! Hope to see you in our newly started Facebook group Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge . There y...

Simplicity Sunday - Three easy greeting cards with gelli printed backgrounds by Melina

Image
Hello everyone! It´s Melina here today with three greeting cards to share. Some time ago I shared a video here for a Technique Thursday blog post, on how I made these backgrounds. I didn´t use all my printed backgrounds at that time,  and now I have turned them all into quick and simple cards. I also used already coloured and cut out images made for other projects, but never got used at that time. I love the feeling when actually making something  out of the pile of stuff laying on my table, don´t you? For the first card I used  Friends Fur-ever ,  Just a Note For the second card I used  Crazy Flowers #1 ,  Just a Note For the third card I used  Tropical Summer ,  Beautiful Words If you would like to look back at the blog post on how I made the printed backgrounds, you´ll find it HERE . Thank you so much for stopping by today! It would be lovely if you join us in the  Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge...

A Simple Fishy Tag by Sue

Image
Good afternoon and happy Sunday. I'm really happy to be sharing my Simplicity Sunday tag with you today.  These Fish Diet  stamps that Melina designed just make me laugh, I love them! The tag was cut from a sheet of watercolour card that had been sprayed with inks. It wasn't what I wanted at the time, but it was perfect for this project as it had a 'filled in' piece that I used for the tag, and the less intense bits around the edges were used to stamp the fish on. It didn't matter if I couldn't get a full fish 'cos they were chopped up anyway. A little bit of cutting and sticking,  some beaded texture paste for the bubbles, a few googly eyes (sorry ;-)) and we're all done. All of the stamps can be found over at the store, Have a lovely Sunday, and thanks very much for looking x Fish Diet

Simplicity Sunday - Card with Distress Oxides by Melina

Image
Hi! It´s Melina here today on Simplicity Sunday with a card to share with you. A while ago I had a play with my Distress oxide inks and photo paper. For todays project I used one of those backgrounds. I stamped the Dreamcatcher using StazOn ink, and also stamped the  sentiment from the Affirmations stamp set. I then stamped a few of the small stamps and the word Dream from the  Dreamcatcher stamp set using Distress Oxides again. I drew a string for the dreamcatcher to hang from and a frame all around the edges and my card was done. If anyone is interested to see how I made the background, you´ll  find the video HERE . Thank you so much for stopping by today! xx Melina Rubber Dance Stamps used: Dreamcatcher Affirmations

Mixed Media Tag by Deborah

Image
Hello everyone sorry for the lateness of this post, technology is great when it works, anyway better late than never! Here is a quick and simple tag! For this quick card I cut a tag in watercolour card and smooched on some blue and green paint using my Sennelier watercolour paints. Once that was dry I added a few plants. I love to add splashes of paint and chose to stick to the blues and green for these ones. I also added some of the little fish from this new set designed by Melina. I love these gorgeous little fish, and look at those cute little hearts.  For the main fish, I used the stamp platform, stamped the fish, then using white acrylic paint, completely painted all the fish. Once they were dry, I restamped the fish and heat set the ink. Then using my Artist Pitt Pens coloured in the fish. I then mounted the card onto a kraft card and added a ribbon. The stamps used are below and can be purchased from the shop ...

Simplicity Sunday - A Card by Dot

Image
Hi everyone, I've been wanting to play with the 3rd Row, Textured Houses stamps for some time. One of the first things that I noticed is how some of the houses are separated, and some are together. This means that you can use them in more ways. And for those of us that scrunch up our faces whenever we have to cut things out (it can't be just me) ... well, it doesn't get any easier than cutting triangles and rectangles.  With a little masking I was able to bunch up some of the houses. By leaving everything in black & white, and adding a little yellow, I've even managed to fit this in with the colour part of our challenge this month. I hope you have enjoyed my simple card of houses and that you remember to pop on over to the challenge, see the wonderful inspiration and maybe join in. 3rd Row Textured Houses Round In Circles ...

Simplicity Sunday - The Merry Magpie by Sue

Image
Good afternoon and a very happy Sunday, it's Sue here with my quick, simple, and ever so slightly blingy piece. I love to create my backgrounds with paint and a brayer, and for every days background pieces you also have a mop-up sheet where you clean up your brayer.  This is one of those sheets, I've just chopped it down to size and brayered a border. I fixed the Merry Magpie  to my stamping platform along with the sentiment from the same set. I always like to use this when I'm stamping over lots of paint so that I can re-stamp if I need to, then I embossed with jet black embossing powder. I stitched it all into my black album, and as all magpie's like a bit of the shiny, I added a few (lots) of sequins. I hope you like him, and thanks very much for looking xx

Simplicity Sunday A Simple Card by Sue

Image
Good afternoon and happy Sunday, it's Sue here with a really quick and easy card for you. The background has been made by dabbing Mustard Seed Distress Ink on my craft sheet then spritzing with water. I dipped a small circles stencil into the puddle of ink and laid down onto my card. Then I gently pressed the stencil down and rubbed over with some kitchen roll. After lifting the stencil I blotted the card with the roll to remove some of the colour. Once this was dry (give it a quick blast with a heat tool) I repeated the process with some Faded Lipstick Distress Ink and a different stencil. You don't need to ink the whole of the stencil, and you can just press down where you want the colour. Then just stamp your image(s) I used Summer Love . This is a lovely vintage stamp and really easy to use To finish I used a small circle punch to chop the notches to wind my butchers twine around. All of the wonderful stamps can be found here so grab a cup of coffee and g...
