Mixed Media Canvas - Sue

Good afternoon and happy Saturday - yay for the weekend! It's Sue here and I've been using the beautiful Blossoming Rose stamp that my teamie Debs designed for Rubber Dance.

I started with a canvas that was in my 'to finish sometime never' pile. For some reason I didn't like it at the time, but it's perfect for what I need now.
Then I added some DecoArt crackle paste through a stencil that Debs has also designed. I know - she's very clever isn't she!

I let the crackle dry overnight 'cos we've not seen the sun here since late September (or at least that's what it feels like). I got busy with the paints next. I've used the quinacridone colours and lots of water.

Then I used gold through the other part of the stencil.

I made some Plaster of Paris leaves and painted them.

Then stamped and watercoloured my lovely rose and added it to the canvas along with the leaves and some chunky embossing powder.

I stamped the flower again so I could layer it up, and stamped and coloured the quote from the stamp sheet.

And we're all done. I've added some gilding waxes and paint splatters and the obligatory sequins. It's always a little frightening using a stamp that a teamie designed, so I hope that Debs like it.
Have a very happy day, and thanks very much for looking xx

Very pretty, Sue! The stamp and stencil that Debs designed work really well together! Love the colours with the shimmer and shine added! Thank you so much for sharing! ♥ ♥ ♥
I have to agree both stamps and stencil really do go hand in hand. Your unfinished canvas is perfect for this project. Super make Sue!
