Black and White kraft

Hello stampers, Craftyfield here with an inspiration piece for this month's challenge here at Rubber Dance.

I went the less obvious route and chose Kraft as my colour and, by using it as the cardstock base, I made sure there would be a LOT of it! Having said that, by the end, all I wanted to do was add a pop of red...

For stamps, I used the Textured Flowers plate, which has both big and small blooms as well as leaves to build your own garden, field or bouquet. I love this graphic design which I think lends itself to Mixed Media makes and unconventional colour schemes.

With such a drab colour scheme, I had to play with the types of ink I used to get different tones of black and create a sense of depth in the picture.

Here the foreground flowers have been stamped in Versafine and look that bit darker against the smaller flowers in the background, stamped with Memento dye ink.

I also gave the main flowers details with white gel pens following the stamped motifs.

The subtle colouring given to the background flowers has been added with a white colour pencil for a soft effect.






I also used white pencil around the blooms at the center of the bouquet.

Finally, I used two of the small textures from the Textured Flowers plate with white embossing powder to spice up the background.

The sentiment is from the Da Vinci plate, stamped and embossed on black card.
