Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing another page ready for my art journal.  My page is 7.5 x 7.5 inches and I just love that the Butterfly Girl is such a statement image, standing there reaching for those stars, she is sure to get there! It was an easy page to create, the background is simply distress inks, Faded Jeans and Hickory Smoke, I used the Mixed Media Marks #3 stamp set to stamp some background detail and some stencils to create the dotty silver sparkle with paint and white heat embossing powder for the stars. Finishing touches were the text from Mix a Sentiment #1 and some highlights with a white Posca pen and some black inky splats. Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing a home decoration hanging I made inspired by walks looking for mushrooms. I love bright colours, did you know that mushrooms come in all colours of the rainbow? This project was an absolute joy to create, all the layers made it lots of fun, it's also great fun to mix and match lots of different Rubber Dance stamp sets if you have them as they all work so very well together, here's how I did it..... I began with a round piece of board measuring with a diameter of 8 inches, I die cut some circles from an old book I'm recycling and adhered them in place. Using lots of brightly coloured acrylic paints and just one grey neutral, I quite randomly covered the whole area of the board. The colours were very bright indeed and to help the details pop off the background I added some white gesso, just in some places and very thinly. How's everybody ?                            I've been playing with   Mixed media marks 1 ,  Mixed media marks 3   and   Sketchy Leaves   to  create a  colorful Atc´s that I hope you like . Very easy to do, we started. We cut watercolor paper to a size of 2.5 x 3.5 inches, if you prefer to work in cm, 6.4x8.9. In my case, the paper is smooth and hot pressed, and I color the backgrounds with pigments. When the backgrounds dry (we can speed up the process with a heat gun) we will add texture and depth with different inks, in my case I have used distress oxide.To start, I choose a stamp from the  Mixed media marks  , apply the inks, spray water, and stamp, (I'm not looking for definition, I'm looking for a watercolor effect, watery).Help myself with the dryer and go back to stamp with different i...

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing with you a home decor creation. Those of you who know my art will know that the moon appears in it's various phases, on most things I create, not that I'm obsessed with it or anything! I remember being a little girl, lying on the grass with dad looking at the moon and I asked him if flowers grew on the moon, he said, 'they might do'.  I think the best art we create is art from the heart, so when I matched up the fabulously fun Sketchy Flowers stamp set with this MDF moon and the Mixed Media Marks stamp set with the stars and Cape Canaveral postmark stamp I couldn't resist creating a moon flower garden of my own. The flowers were stamped on white card and coloured with watercolour paints. Every thing else is acrylic paints and the finer details were done with Posca paint pens.
