Hello arty friends, How are you? Today I’m going to show you what I do to use up some of the scraps most of us accumulate. I collect mine in a tin and when it starts to overflow it’s time to do some collaging! I also have quite a collection of these cute tags, perfect for the job. I stamped some images on book pages and some on the scraps, then cut them out. The next job is to look through the scraps and find bits that will go together.  I try to avoid straight lines, tearing the paper rather than cutting it and arranging it at angles. I also tend to work in one corner. If the background is colourful I chose an image that’s been stamped on a book page, and the other way round. Sometimes I add a little bit of background stamping. Little bits punched from the same paper scraps also work well. I arrange all the bits first, glue them down when I’m happy and then trim around the edges. Finally I stamped some words onto a piece of card and cut out the ones I wanted to use. Give it ...

Sketchy Birds ATC's by Dot Leathbridge

Image
Hi everyone, it's Dot here today with an ATC tutorial for you using Sketchy Birds , Sketchy Flowers #3 , Mandalas and Mix a Sentiment #2.  I've really enjoy these stamps and couldn't resist using them again, but this time on ATC's. The birds are so gorgeous. I was in the mood for blending with distress inks, so that was my starting point for these ATC's. There is something quite relaxing about blending. I chose 2 soft colours which feature on our Mood Board this month. One of the best things about distress ink is how it reacts with water. I chose some Mandala stamps and spritzed them. It's good to hold the spray about a foot above the stamp and to only spray 2-3 times. What I like to do is hold the stamp on the ink for about 10 secs, wait a bit and then dab with paper toweling. Finishing off with a heat tool. It usually brings up the image beautifully. Then simply cut the card into ATC sizes. Personally, I always make 3 at a time. The measurements are 2 1/2...
