  For today's post I created four Mixed Media Background Collage Cards! I created a masterboard with collaging different elements to a piece of paper that measured 30 by 30 centimeters approximately. The  HOW TO : Adhere elements like fussycut stamped images (flowers and leaves), but also book paper and some colored imagery (mostly green leaves).   Stamp with Mixed Media or flower stamps in the background. Apply gesso over the elements partially with a palette knife using gesso.  Spray with green and orange spray inks to merge all the of elements to a cohesive background.  Tear four pieces from this masterboard to fit the four card bases.   Adhere fussycut stamped images, stamp postage stamps and fussycut stamped torn pieces of postage tickets to finish each card off.   See you next time!  Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Mixed Media Marks #3  Grungy Butterflies Textured Birds Flowers Gone Wild Textured M...

Hello, Samantha here today and I'm sharing another page ready for my art journal.  My page is 7.5 x 7.5 inches and I just love that the Butterfly Girl is such a statement image, standing there reaching for those stars, she is sure to get there! It was an easy page to create, the background is simply distress inks, Faded Jeans and Hickory Smoke, I used the Mixed Media Marks #3 stamp set to stamp some background detail and some stencils to create the dotty silver sparkle with paint and white heat embossing powder for the stars. Finishing touches were the text from Mix a Sentiment #1 and some highlights with a white Posca pen and some black inky splats. An easy card today from me .. I used leftovers from a sticker sheet that was monoprinted on (see this post ) from my stash and cut 3x3 centimeter squares from it to form a square on a blank square card.  I stamped with orange and black background stamps onto the card to tie it all together as shown. A fussycut bird, butterflies and a sentiment finish it off.  See you next time! Hello, I'm  Priss  and I welcome you to a fun Tutorial improving a background that I didn't  like the first time.  Do you remember this art journal page I made for March ? Well, when I did the background the first time, it didn't turn out the way I expected. The Resist Technique didn't work well with the clear embossing powder, so I did it with Gold EP. But here nothing is thrown away, much less failed backgrounds. So I saw the failed background and my first idea was to make two labels. I cut the paper into two 2.5-inch stripes and punched them out with a tag puncher. I feel that my backgrounds need more light and elements that make a contrast. That's why I decided to stamp some rainbows of the set  Carved Collection 1 ,  with violet and yellow inks over silk paper. You know I love to use silk paper over my backgrounds. Then I glued  the rainbows and stamped over the tags with stamps of the set  Pencil Marks 5 . After that, I chose some Posca pens...

Two cards from a single sheet of a monoprint from me today!  I LOVE how this A4 sheet turned out, with all the stamping into the wet paint. Guess what I've made with the leftover piece?  I rolled it to be paper beads; two centimeters wide ones starting it off with a strip of 30 by 2 centimeter of white paper. I like making them like this as now it has a white core, and I don't need a big leftover piece of colorful paper to make it sturdy. They have not been glazed yet and I am sure they will look marvelous then. I might add some script stamped to it still... make them match the background of the cards more.   As the backgrounds are quite colorful, I just added a fussy cut stamped image, and some words from a sentiment set.  I colored the flowers with a watercolor pencil, added more of the green and yellow into the background to match the flowers.
