Retro Birthday Card by Angie Coomber

Image
Hello arty friends, how are you? I was playing with the Pencil Marks #5 set recently and loved the retro vibe one of the stamps was giving me so I thought I'd make something for the blog. I used my favourite Distress Oxide technique to create some backgrounds (you can never have enough backgrounds, right?!). I just swipe a few colours on my craft mat, spritz with water and mop up with card or paper until I like the effect. You have to experiment a little bit - some papers work better than others. I chose a yellow piece for the background and cut it into a square to fit my card. Then I picked 3 complimentary colours for the circles and stamped 3 of each colour. Next I stamped 3 lines on the background for the circles to sit on. I cut out the  circles and glued them onto the background - I experimented until I liked the layout. After that I felt like the card needed something else, and eventually I decided to stamp another one of the images from the set onto the same yellow car...

Happy Birthday Mixed Media Card

Image
Hello Rubber Dance Friends, it's Dunja today and i'm happy to be back on the blog to share my latest card with you.  The card is fresh, colourful and made with my favourite materials. Have you already discovered the clear stamps from Rubber Dance? They are great, right? I used a gel print here, on top of it I applied the Tacky when Dry paste on a stencil and used the FabFoils in rose gold. It sticks to the dry paste and the effect is fantastic. I simply stamped the leaves with a black ink pad and cut them out. On top of that I placed the die cut flower and can you see the little two flowers? They are stamped on a gel print, cut out and glued on.  I embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock. I hope you like the card? Have a great day. Don't forget, you can still take part in our challenge in the Facebook group. See you soon, happy Rubber Dance stamping. Birthday Card with Guinea Pig by Priss

Image
Hey everyone! Priss here. Welcome to an easy & fun tutorial using the super cute Guinea Pig Stamps set . First, I cut down a piece of watercolor paper to the size of 6 1/2 by 4 1/2 inches.  I prepared a 'watercolor mix' made with Distress Oxides Reink and as much water as I wanted to lighten the color.  Then I painted some stripes alternating colors, and using iridescent gold and copper watercolors, I added some sparkles to them. To make the background more interesting, I stamped a few little rainbows on each strip with the same colors using distress inks pads.  I love adding some splatters, so this time I did it with the gold and copper watercolors. For the final touch of this background, I made a frame  with a fine black pen. I stamped and painted with alcohol markers, the Guinea Pig, and the flowers of the set. And for the final touches,   I did shadows and highlights with my favorite crayons and pens. Now Is time for composition. You know thi...

Birthday Tag by Angie Coomber

Image
Hi arty friends,  How are you? There are a lot of birthdays in our family in April and I have been making a fair few cards. I made this birthday tag as part of a set of gift vouchers for someone who loves the sea. I made a few gelli prints in the sort of colours I knew I wanted to use. I chose 2 of them which I used to cover a #8 tag. Next I embossed some “bubbles” on the top half of the tag. I chose the colours for my sea creatures, stamped the images I wanted and cut them out. I glued some of these on to the tag and used the rest on the pocket tag (which I recently made in a class). I added some white doodling and edged the tag with black Distress Ink, and finally adding some sari ribbon. Hopefully the recipient will like it... Until next time, hugs from Angie x Stamps used: Textured Sea Creatures Textured Fishes
