“Home is not a Place” by Angie Coomber

Image
Hello arty friends, How are you? I have been playing with my set of Happy Place stamps lately and here’s what I made for you. First I stamped my house onto some watercolour paper.  I coloured the image in using watercolours. Next I added some shading using water soluble pencils and a water brush, then cut out the image. I used a background stamp on a piece of gelli print,  cut it out and glued this and the coloured image onto a vintage book page. I embossed a quote at the bottom of the book page, then cut the page into a smaller rectangle and matted it onto a piece of red card. I also used a paper punch to create some hearts from the same piece of card and glued them onto the card.  Finally I glued the whole thing onto a white card. I hope you like it! Until next time, hugs from Angie x Stamps used: Happy Place Pencil Marks #1

Sketchy Bird meets Antique Butterflies by Ellie Knol

An easy card today from me .. I used leftovers from a sticker sheet that was monoprinted on (see this post ) from my stash and cut 3x3 centimeter squares from it to form a square on a blank square card.  I stamped with orange and black background stamps onto the card to tie it all together as shown. A fussycut bird, butterflies and a sentiment finish it off.  See you next time! Colorful Flowery Cards by Ellie Knol

Two cards from a single sheet of a monoprint from me today!  I LOVE how this A4 sheet turned out, with all the stamping into the wet paint. Guess what I've made with the leftover piece?  I rolled it to be paper beads; two centimeters wide ones starting it off with a strip of 30 by 2 centimeter of white paper. I like making them like this as now it has a white core, and I don't need a big leftover piece of colorful paper to make it sturdy. They have not been glazed yet and I am sure they will look marvelous then. I might add some script stamped to it still... make them match the background of the cards more.   As the backgrounds are quite colorful, I just added a fussy cut stamped image, and some words from a sentiment set.  I colored the flowers with a watercolor pencil, added more of the green and yellow into the background to match the flowers. Have a nice weekend!    Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Flowers Gone Wild Pencil Marks #1 Mix...

Scrap Diary by Angie Coomber

Image
Hello arty friends, Angie here with a page in my art journal. Recently I have seen someone keeping a scrap diary, meaning they collect bits and pieces from their desk, for example their underpaper or mop up pages, choosing the most interesting sections and cutting them into equal sized pieces, then gluing them onto a page for every month. Over time this provides a kind of record of the type of art you've been creating. I picked the pieces below to start with, about 3 of each colour. I worked out how many pieces would fit on my double page and chose the 12 I liked the most. I used the Carved Collection #1 and Pencil Marks #1 stamp sets to stamp on the squares, using black Archival Ink. Next I roughly sorted the squares into rainbow colours (one of my go-to's when I can't decide which order to put things in, haha), then glued them onto my journal pages. Finally I roughly outlined all of the squares with a black fineliner. I quite like this simple geometric design! Until next...

Colorful Sketchy Flowery Journal Cover by Ellie Knol

The cover of a gelli printed paper journal from me, Ellie today.  I had fun playing on the gelliplate with these flowery stamps!  I've added one fussy cut flower stamped onto white paper to the collage and a sentiment.  The berries were also given some extra color; and the hearts of all the flowers, to make them pop more.  Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Sketchy Flowers #3 Pencil Marks #1 Mix A Sentiment 1 Old Book Page
