Ellie Knol Mixed Media Cards

Image
Hi everyone! Ellie Knol gladly accepted my invitation to guest design, and today I want to show you some beautiful cards she made using stamps from the set called Vintage Birds, and the background stamp called Vintage Script. I think these cards are really cool and I hope you will like them as much as I do! A closer look at some details:    Start off with a suitable piece of scrapbook paper. Both feathers have been heat embossed in black. I added some cheese cloth,  photo-film, a frame covered with some texture paste, and used a stencil to add texture with the same texture paste. I stamped some script in the background with black ink and white gesso.  Ellie also made this beautiful ATC!  Feather stamped with various colors of Distress inks. Backround is sponged with Distress inks (partially with stencils). Stamped script in the background to add interest.  And last, but not least, this adorable card with eggs in a n...

Happiness is... Stencils and Stamps

Image
Hello, everyone! Here's a festive card by Irit on our Design Team: Irit posted this card on her blog the other day, and we agreed that I could show it here as well. Here's how she made it: 1) Punch a circle mask and place it in the centre of a panel of white cardstock. This is where the sentiment will go (see step 6) 2) Use a stencil and add texture paste, peel stencil off, remove mask. 3) Sprinkle a mix of red, yellow and sparkle embossing powders over the wet masked texture and heat emboss it. 4) Punch a new cirle, stamp the sentiment and heat emboss with black emossing powder. 5) Make a mask over the stamped sentiment, then stamp the background text and heat emboss it with red powder. Remove mask. 6) Glue the circle with sentiment over your stencilled panel, which is adhered on a second yellow panel of cardstock, then onto a  white base. 7) A dd some rhinestones randomly, and your card is done: Both stamps are from Rubber Dance : "Happiness is"...

Be true with your Mixed Media art

Image
Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here and this is my altered new canvas made with Rubber Dance stamps and Tando Creative masks. First I made the texture over the background with pieces of paper, chalkboard paint and a lot of misting. Then I made the masked images with texture paste and then stamped over the dry (wait a lot) background and added white shadows around the images. All stamps are from Rubber Dance : I used a stamp from the Something Wonderful sentiment set, leaves from Twiggy  Leaves set and made a kind of a frame around with the Fluorishes stamp. Did you know there's a SALE at the Rubber Dance webshop right now? Thanks for stopping by! Irit

Retro Cabinet Card by Katy

Image
I have a bit of an antidote from Christmas for all of those of you who might already be sick of seeing Santas and Snowmen! I created a retro-style cabinet card with a love theme using one of my favourite Rubber Dance stamps called Retro Couple. I want to quickly talk you through how I coloured the image, creating this vintage tinted look. 1) Stamp your image onto GLOSSY card with permanent ink (StazOn or Archival). You must use glossy for this technique to work and you must also allow the ink to dry completely - I'd recommend heat setting it to be totally sure it's 100% dry. 2) The key to this technique is to work quickly without much hesitation as you need to move the ink around before it dries. Using water-based markers (I used Distress Markers) scribble all over a particular area with a chosen colour - for example I used Tattered Rose on the faces. Quickly wipe over the colour with a piece of kitchen roll or a soft cloth. Some of the colour will adhere to the card bu...

Happy Birthday Card

Image
Hello everyone, it's Majo from the Design Team here at Rubber Dance Stamps!  Today I want to show you how to create a card using one of the stamps from the new Happy Birthday set.  I stamped the sentiment in four different colours (Ranger Distress Ink Peeled Paint, Old Paper, Stormy Sky and Wild Honey) on white panels and adhered them on kraft cardstock. After distressing the edges I used glue dots to adhere them on my black card front and added some hemp wire with a little metal heart. See how much you can get out of ONE stamp by repeating it like this! :-) Have fun crafting! Hugs from Majo To see all the cool stamps from Rubber Dance, you can hop over to the brand new webshop here: www.rubberdance.com Remember the birthday sale - going on till December 24th!

Art Journal Page

Image
Hi everyone! It's Susanne today and I'd like to share an Art Journal page this time. For this page I started by covering the pages with gesso and played with my Gelatos to create a basic background. I used the Gelatos Lemon, Tangerine, Red Cherry, Snow Cone and Metallic Mint. To create the white stars on the left I used one of my favourite Gelato techniques: I wiped away the Gelato color through a stencil with a wet baby wipe. The white snowflakes on the right are doodled with a white pen. To finish my background I stamped some images of the Pines Fir Yew stamp set and the Winter Wonderland stamp set from Rubber Dance. I used my Stamper's Big Brush Pen (turquoise) and my Archival Ink Pads (Jet Black and Monarch Orange). I printed the "Warm Winter Wishes" with my PC - the font is called "Head Case". Another option would be to handwrite the words on your own. My handwriting is not the best, so I prefer printing it. I cut the words out, colore...
