Watercolor fun with Mixed Media Marks by Ellie Knol

Image
Hi,  Ellie Knol sharing fun watercolor backgrounds with you today! ****  This is where it all started.. watercolor play and trying to loosen up, on a big sheet of watercolor;  in the meantime getting the practice of brushstrokes and control of water in the process. Not that I am new to watercolor, but practice makes perfect, doesn't it? I did a watercolor workshop on  Skillshare from Jo-Marie Barlow  to create the backgrounds for the 10x10 cm cards and ATC format cards. (as for Skillshare: 2 months for free!)  ENJOY.    Why not play, and then cut it up?!     I gave it my own twist .. ... adding Mixed Media Marks ...  ... and of course a stamped focal point....   Grungy Butterflies  and Flowers Gone Wild  and  Doodle flowers  on the ATC's.  ... I made 2 ATC's and 4 cards from the masterboard!!   See you next ti...

Art Defined. A Tag by Dot.

Image
Hi everyone, I hope the sun is shining where ever you are in the world. Today's tutorial is a mixed media tag. It was great fun to make and I hope you enjoy it. Last year I decided to start collecting my tags and  then pop into an art journal. It has been slow going but this tag will be added to that journal. There are lots of layers on this tag,  so I will walk you through how they all came together. There are a couple of steps involved before making a start. Firstly, one of Susanne Rose's videos on her You-tube channel had something in it that peaked my curiosity. It was colouring tissue paper with brushos. I really wanted to give this a go. Secondly, on my last project where we explored generation stamping  with Da Vinci stamps, I had used scrap pieces of photo copy paper to stamp off onto. These off cuts were saved for collage work  and I decided to use them on this tag. The background is a collage made w...

A card with the Textured Birds by Mariken

Image
Hi everyone!  Mariken here with a card with this cute bird from the lovely stamps " Textured Birds ". Love them so much! I had a left over from a gelliprint. So I used this as a background and added little pieces of die cuts and some black marks (this is a piece of rice paper). After that I used my " Mixed Media Marks " for some more marks. And... I stamped the word DREAMS from " Journal Words ". I coloured my little birdie with watercolors. The stamps I used:   Here is a little reminder that our Mood Board Challenge continues in the Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge on Facebook. We hope to see you there. Thank you so much for your visit here and enjoy your day! Mariken XX

Under Water Journal Page by Samantha Read

Image
Hello, Samantha with you today and I'm sharing a page a made for my art journal, the pages are 8 inches x 8 inches and my art journal has no words! I had great fun creating this using two amazing Rubber Dance stamp sets - Textured Sea Creatures and one of the new releases - Textured Fishes. The super shiny background was made using lustre sprays on top of metallic paints and all the creatures, sea weed and shells were stamped on white card and coloured using watercolour pencils. The background is easy and very effective, some bling finished the page perfectly. Thanks so much for looking, the Rubber Dance team would love to see your creations, please join us on Facebook in the 'Rubber Dance Stamping Lounge'. Wishing you a lovely day, Sam :) Textured Sea Creatures  Textured Fishes

Believe Art Journal Page

Image
Hi  dear friends, Lisa  today to share with you this art journal Page playing with some acrylic paints and Rubber Dance Stamps, of course! I started by brushing on the background some acrylic paints, after I dabbed a baby wipe to remove some color and create more texture. I  let it dry and I brushed a little bit of white paint only in some points to create white spaces. After I stamped randomly some borders from Grungy Borders set and Mix A Sentiment stamp with archival inks.  On a piece of White collage paper I stamped the girl from new stamp set This Is Me and I glued it on the page with gel medium. Then I used the sentiments from the same stamp set with white embossing powder on a black cardstock and I chose some words to add to my page. Finally I made some marks with black watercolor pencil and I added splatters with white liquid paint. I used these stamps  from Rubber Dance Stamps shop: This Is Me Grungy Borders ...
