Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

Hello, Samantha with you today and I'm sharing with you a pretty item to decorate your home or give as a gift. I used a house shaped piece of MDF as a base but it could also have been square or circular. I bagan by giving the MDF house a couple of coats of white gesso and then stamped the large flower stamp directly on to the gesso. I stamped the butterfly from the Inky Friends stamp set on to white card. I coloured them both using watercolour paints. When the house was coloured I added a crackle glaze, to give shine and detail. I also added some iridescent shimmer to the butterfly wings. To finish I adhered the butterfly body to the house but used foam pads to adhere the wings so they were not flat, adding dimension to. I was going to add some text but couldn't decide which words, so decided not to in the end but it would look great with some words too! Hello Lovelies, I just started creating and than get the idea to have an new little challenge series for me.... "Two 2 Four". So let's come with me and read about my new idea.  First of all I got my hands on the new clear stamps... so I wanted to use the ' Pencil Marks #3 ' Stamp set. I choosed the large leaves branch and the rainbow. First I stamped them one time on watercolour paper and one time on marker paper.  And then I thought of the idea of doing two same cards with one image, using watercolours and alcohol maker to colour them in.  I tried some kind of loose or offset colouring on the leaves with my watercolours and afterwards made some colour splotches over it.  I like this kind of easy and loose colouring, thats why I used it to colour the rainbow the same way.  Next I tried to achieve a almost similiar looking colouring using my alcohol markers.
