For today's post two cards on a gelliprint, a yellow and reddish one.  I added a little light blue around the stamped images to make them pop more.  Also, the white added with an acrylic marker gives it more dimension.  The Mixed Media Marks stamp set stamped in the background adds to the collage feel of the stamped images.  And, of course, adding more color to the images themselves, adds depth.  As easy as that.  I can keep on adding to this way of stamping and coloring for hours.     Rubber Dance Stamps: The Rubber Dance Webshop Textured Flowers  Mixed Media Marks Vintage Script Art Defined

Hello creative friends! How are you all keeping? Angie here with an altered book page for you. I hope you like it. To begin with I added some bits and pieces of ephemera and washi tape to my book pages to add interest. I glued these down with gel medium, then added some texture paste through a stencil. When the pages were dry I painted them with the colours shown in the picture, then added some patches of white paint to tone the colours down a bit. I also used the same colours through a stencil. I left a fairly light patch on the right and stamped the girl's face from the "Believe in you" stamps set  on this. I added some patches of black paint, which makes the colours pop, white & gold splatter and white mark making, and used a purple distress crayon to create a darker background around the girl. Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping well. I spent a long time trying to come up with an idea for this blog post because I wanted it to be something useful. Although I have plenty of time to make art at the moment I often find myself sitting at my desk staring into space, not knowing what to do with myself. Then I remembered a set of journal prompt cards I made last year in a lovely online class with Katy Leitch as part of the Mixed Up Creative Wellspring Series 2019. I think it's a really useful tool when you're at a loose end with your art journaling. I started by creating a background for the cards, using some of my go-to colours, Dina Wakley's paints in Fuchsia, Cheddar & Turquoise.  I used the same colours (plus white) and some of my Tim Holtz stencils to add more texture. Hello! I'm so excited to be here!  My name is Angie, I love mixed media, art journaling in particular, but also anything miniature, altered art, altered books, making cards, ATCs...you get the picture!  If it involves paper and paints I'm there. My biggest influences over the last few years have been Kate Crane, Tracy Scott and of course Susanne! For this post I decided to make an art journal page, so here goes. I started off by painting my background, using turquoise, green, pink and a little bit of white acrylic paint. I added some stencilling and mark making, using the same colours. Next some rubber stamping in black - I was once taught to use 3 different background stamps and group them together on different areas of the page and i think it works quite well. I added some patches of white paint and black paint, using my fingers. And some gold splatter! I don't  think I've done many pages without a little bit of gold splatter....

Hi everyone, It's Donna here today and I have long admired the absolute stunning artwork by my fab teamie Melina, especially her Zendoodled creations so I got to thinking if I could do that too. As I was thinking this the  Bonny Bunny  stamp set caught my eye and got me thinking....what if..... The  Bonny Bunny  stamp is ideal to try as it's quite an 'open' stamp so plenty of room to practice your doodling on. I stamped with black Archival ink on some thick card. I used a black fine liner pen for this, make sure the nib is as fine as you can get although you can doodle with varying nibs but for the finer stuff this is more controllable I found. So here I started the doodling, I had no plan in my mind, just doodled whatever patterns came into my head. Some more doodling....such fun!!
