Happy Birthday Card ► Majo

Image
Good morning, my dear friends! You must think that there is just one set of stamps in my collection, well, there are more, but I must admit this is my favorite one at the moment.  I have made many cards wth this set and everytime my card has reached its final destination, other people want to know where it came from and they order one too.  This time it's for a lady I don't know in person, but we join the same FB group as Admins. So, without futher ado here is my card.   I stamped the lovely flowers with Ranger Black Archival ink and heat embossed them. I applied masking fluid. For the background I used Ranger Distress Inks *Worn Lipstick*, Tattered Rose*, *Spun Sugar* and *Victorian Velvet* by just pressing the pad to my worksheet, adding some water and swiping my card through the puddle. You have to make sure to dry all layers in between, otherwise it will get a bit muddy and the colours aren't separated anymore. I rubbed off the masking fl...

Happy Birthday Card ► Majo

Image
Hi Everyone, it's Majo here today to welcome you to a fun make using the awesome Grungy Butterflies . I was asked to create a Birthday card for an older lady who loves Butterflies to pieces, but doesn't like any "bold & beautiful" colors. Her choice would have been black & white with "glimmer". Well, I was able to talk her out of that  .... at least. No glimmer for and from me. I decided to keep the colors mute by using kraft cardstock and my contribution to glimmer was heat embossing. If she turns her card a bit, it will shine, and therefore she has some resemblance to "glimmer" I stamped the main images randomly over the panel and heat embossed with Ranger Super Fine Detail Powder. After stamping the Birthday Greeting I decided that I needed some frame, so I added the beautiful and delicate leaves from the Grungy Flower Set. The sentiment is part of the set Happy Birthday.     The following stamps I used: Happ...

Happy Birthday ► Majo

Image
Hello everyone, Majo here with a Birthday Card! I wanted this card to be very bright since I made it for a friend's birthday in January and I wanted to brighten her day during this gloomy time of the year. I used Distress Oxide on my background and spritzed it with a lot of water.  After I dried it with my heat gun I repeated the steps twice. I stamped the flowers and took off the colour with bleach. After stamping my Birthday wish on a piece of black card stock I assembled all layers and added some rhinestones for sparkle. I used the following stamps: Birthday Cow Doodle Flowers Thank you for your precious time A reminder that we have a challenge that goes all month on our face book page which you can find  Here It is always ANYTHING GOES or a colour combo if you wish. Hop over to the store and have a look at the new sets :  Happy Sunday and Happy Crafting ♥

CAS-ual Friday: Birthday Card by Bibi

Image
Welcome to another CAS-ual Friday with Rubber Dance stamps! CAS stands for C lean A nd S imple. In most cases that means using just a few stamps, leaving a lot of white around the stamped images. That part might feel intimidating to many cardmakers, myself included when I tried the CAS style for the first time a couple of years ago. The more CAS card I made, the easier I found it, though. Goes with everything new we try, doesn't it? For today's CAS card, I've used a stamp that you have never seen before! This gorgeous hydrangea flower with birthday sentiment (and more) will be released on the 2nd of June, so here's just a little nibble ... I coloured the stamp with watercolour markers, gave it a light mist of water and stamped it on watercolour paper. I filled in just a few petals and both leaves, using markers and a paint brush. For the sentiment, I also used markers on the stamp - but no water for a crisp impression. This stamp set will be available in t...

A Pretty Textured Card

Image
Good Morning Everyone Helen from the Creative Team here today. It has been a long time since I have shared a tutorial with you here on the Rubber Dance Blog and I really hope you like the tutorial for this pretty card using the wonderful Textured Flowers stamp set and sentiments from  Happy Birthday . In the video tutorial I will show you how to use all the many texture stamps that come in this stamp set to create a pretty background using Distress Inks.  You can make this background in any colour combination you like and could use it on other projects too. As usual I will show you how to make the inside look as pretty as the outside: I have had lots of fun creating with the Textured Flowers stamp set and have been using it in my real life card classes and my students have loved the variety of cards we have made with them. So this is the first of a couple of tutorials featuring this lovely stamp set.  I hope you will enjoy my vide...

Blooming - Birthday Card for Bibi

Image
Hello Rubber Dance fans, Craftyfield here, guesting today after winning the October challenge with this piece: I was keen to join in with the November challenge theme and colours, as the DT and blog followers are celebrating Bibi's Birthday. I like the colours and wanted to make my own tribute for Bibi's special day. My card feature the popular Textured Flowers set, although I only used a single petal, and watercolours, which seem to be really trendy in the crafting world these days. I used watercolour paper for my card base, and I first stamped the large face from the Collage Mix with black ink. Then, I stamped all my petals around the face in Memento Paris Dusk ink, using masks of the petals to give the impression of overlapping petals. I added sentiments from the Happy Birthday set, using Memento Paris Dusk and Grape Jelly inks. Using watercolours the old fashioned way, with a brush and tube...

Challenge Reminder - CAS Birthday Card by Bibi

Image
Hellooooo, darling stampers! Have you joined the ongoing Rubber Dance  challenge yet? I'm turning 50 next month, so our challenge's theme for November is, of course, birthday! The theme is optional, though, just use our three colours and you're in :-) I had made the card below for this week's CASology challenge and have entered it from  my personal blog . My original card has no sentiment on it, I added it after I had joined the CASology challenge because their theme is not birthday, but TEAM. The first kind of team I thought of was a Design Team ...  I know, these three dancers might not look much of a Design Team to you, but humour me; the stamp is made of  Rubber  and they  Dance , plus they're fun and colourful, so there you have it: The Rubber Dance Design Team! (In real life, they look like this , 'case you wondered....) Stamps from Happy Dancing and Beautiful Words Dancers stamped on Strathmore Mixed Media paper, col...

Rubber Dance Challenge - November

Image
Hello, gorgeous! It's Bibi here (owner of Rubber Dance) , welcoming you to our last stamp challenge this year.   We'll take a break in December, but we'll be back with a new challenge on January 1st. Below are three bright and happy colours for you to use on your stamped projects in November. Our theme is optional, as always, but I'm turning 50 on December 4th and thought this challenge would be a nice warm-up to my Big Five-O!  There is no need to send me a birthday card, just join our challenge and I'll "receive" the card online when I see your entry! ;-)  All other stamped projects are of course welcome, not just birthday cards. You must use ALL three colours for your entry. Challenge Rules: Stamping must be part of your project, but you do not have to use Rubber Dance stamps to participate. ALL THREE challenge colours must be used,  but you may add other colours. Max 3 entries per person. You may combine with other c...

Birthday Card by Susanne

Image
Hi my dear crafty friends. Susanne writing today and I like to share this birthday card. It was for my father in law. He goes fishing to Norway every year. So nothing would have been better than a fishy card created with norwegian Rubber Stamps! I stamped the two fishes from the "Something Fishy" set with jet black Archival Ink and covered it with masking fluid. As soon as the fluid was dry I created the background with Distress Inks. I picked Peacock Feathers and Mermaid Lagoon. I used a piece of acetate to apply the color onto my background. First I pressed the ink pad onto my craft mat, added a little bit of water and picked the color up with the acetate. So I have more control instead of laying the paper directly onto the color. I added the fish-hook with a black fine liner. My little fishes are colored with Twinkling H2Os. Unfortunately it's doesn't look shimmery on the photo. I used the sentiment from the Happy Birthday set. Thanks for stopping by to...

New Stamps, again? Sew it Seams!

Image
Hellooooo, stampers! It's Bibi here today (the owner of Rubber Dance) to show you stuff I've made with some new stamps! Yessss, brand new ones - and you saw them here first! DT Katy has done it again - this time she has designed two sets of stamps, and let me begin with this one: A very cool set of sewing themed stamps that we've called "Sew Sweet".  I made this card for a friend's birthday. She likes to sew so I think she'll like it. The birthday stamp is also a Katy design (from the "Happy Birthday" set). This is what the new set looks like. Isn't that cool? I love these!! Actual size: 13 x 18 cm (5 x 7 inches) I made the card below for Katy when I sent her the "Sew Sweet" stamps. Notice the thingies (what are those called??) on the left hand side. I found them when I was rummaging through the huge box of buttons that my mom gave me a few years ago, stuff she had collected for some 50+ years (i.e. sinc...
