A Little Birdie - A Colourful Tag

Image
Hi everyone, It's Donna here today creating a colourful tag for you...I must be wishing for Spring already I think! I used a size 8 manila  tag  and swooshed it through some  Distress Oxides  that I had already diluted on my craft mat with a spritz of water. I stuck to the pink, green and orange palette for this to create a muted background. I then used a feather stamp from the  Textured Feathers  set, stamping with a blue Distress Oxide as I just wanted some subtle stamping in the background. I then added further stamping in black with a mixture of stamps from  Weed Love  and  A Little Birdie . I then used a sheet of  Strathmore Mixed Media  paper to stamp some more images from  A Little Birdie  and some flowers from the  Textured Flowers  set. I coloured these in with my Zig Clean Colour pens, then fussy cut them out to adhere to the tag. I then added the sentiment from  A Little Birdie ...

Join the Circus

Image
Hi everyone, Donna here today with a Circus themed card that I made especially for my niece's first Birthday. I've included some of my process pictures for you ;) The background was created by using  Decoart paints  on a  Gelli plate  and creating patterns by adding various items from around my craft room to add interest. You can also see the little clouds there from the  Whimsical Summer  set too which I used a Zig clean colour pen to colour around the edges with. The elephant from the African Animals  set was stamped onto  Strathmore Mixed Media  paper (which is my absolute favourite) and coloured once again with the Zig clean colour pens ( these are my favourites too). I hand drew the Circus tent as Rubber Dance doesn't have one of those designs ;)  Once again coloured with the Zigs', look how bright they are! Ah of course the giraffe couldn't be left out could he, also from the...

Salty Sea Scene Tutorial

Image
Hi folks! It's Bibi here today with a salty card tutorial. The stamps I have used are on sale  right now - till 30th of July.  For my card I let one of the new whale stamps play in the water, which I made with Distress Oxide inks - but I'm sure you can get a similar result with any kind of water based inks (aka dye ink). Step by step: I smeared two colours of Distress Oxide (salty ocean, peacock feathers) on a plastic page cover and sprayed the stripes with a bit of water: To get the water in the middle of the card, I folded the cardstock like this ... and dipped it into the ink.  (My keyboard in the background is not dirty, it's colourful! It's a result of using ink sprays in front of it ...) Keep doing this and heat dry between several "dips of ink" till you're happy with the result. I stamped half of the whale by placing her on the side of the acrylic block and added ink on the part I wanted to sta...

Little Pillow Box to a Housewarming

Image
Hello.  Susan from the design team here today.  I was inspired by the little pillow boxes that I have seen on the internet, so I decided to make my own to use for a house warming present.  It is the first time that I have used the pillow box die that I have from Sizzix.  I think that the result turned out really nice.  After I have die cut the box I embossed it with a snow folder and sprayed with lots of glimmer mist. The small textured houses from Rubber Dance are perfect for embellishment.  I have coated it with dimensional coat so it really stands out.  A little congratulations on your new house is written on the back of the little card on the side. The colours look neat together and are inspired by our challenge moodboard here at Rubber Dance this month, where our optional theme is Frosty Winter. I have used: Textured Houses and Beautiful Words  Rubber Dance Stamps Sizzix Embossing Pillow Box die and Embossing fo...

Læs dette indlæg på dansk (post in Danish) I have used: Antique Botanicals and Beautiful Words from Rubber Dance Stamps I have bought the most wonderful colors that are equipped with a brush tip, which can be painted with.  I used this technique for the beautiful antique flowers.  The ink on the edge is magenta archival, a little wilted violet distress ink on the flower leaves, forget-me-not on the watercolor paper, jet black archival ink for the text, designer paper from the stash and some golden corners. You still have time to participate in our  challenge . I hope that you all have had a good month of November. Best wishes, Susan
