Mama Owl Card By Dot Leathbridge

Image
Hello everyone, I hope that everyone is okay and keeping safe.   Mama Owl sure is, she's hiding in among the leaves and flowers. Today I've a tutorial for you showing how I made this card. After checking out the colours on this month's Mood Board I chose a couple of my favourite colours, along with the leaves from the board, and used them as my inspiration for this card. To make a beginning, I've wiped yellow and burgundy ink onto a craft sheet, spritzed it with water and then swiped my card through it. I always like to keep dipping my card into the drops that are left behind on my craft sheet. Drying between each layer as I go. For the next step I've used 'tone on tone' stenciling. All this means is that the inks that were used for the background have been used for the stenciling as well. Burgundy on top of burgundy. Yellow on top of yellow. It gives a lovely pop of colour to your background when you do this. To add another layer I've stamped one of the...

Ghostly Goings On by Gail

Image
Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here today.  October is my favourite month of the year.  Crisp mornings, crisp leaves, hot autumn colours and the best excuse all year to get your Boo! on!!!  I was so excited when Rubber Dance stamps released the Little Witch stamp set .  So many fun stamps and I can see them becoming a firm favourite, whatever the season.  I've combined some of these stamps with a few others from other sets to make a little Halloween scene.       I've been tidying my crafty space and I am trying to use up some unfinished objects (UFO's) and scraps.  I found this folded designer card that I had stamped the branch from Mama Owl on and thought it would work for my spooky scene.  I coloured the branch with distress markers.  I hunted for a circle in my pre-cuts box and found this embossed spiral which I decided would work.  I stamped the middle owl from Owl Do Good on white card, coloured with Promar...

Art journal page with Mama Owl by Jessica

Image
Hello everyone! It´s Jessica here. How is everyone doing? Today I will share an art journal page in my leftover book.  The page was already primed with gesso and had a layer with modeling paste through a stencil(Tim Holtz). I decided to color my page with Lindy´s Stamp gang magicals powder and spray. Then I stamped my Mama Owl on parchment paper. It´s something I do when I have a very textured page otherwise the stamped image will get uneven.   I used gel medium to glue it to my page and then I stamped the branch and some leaves around my page from the Mama Owl set . The owl disapeard in all the blues and greens and I decided to color some parts of the owl with Arteza real brush pens (yellow, green and turquoise) and a white posca pen. I also used a micron pen to fill in some of the black lines. I did some more stamping, flowers from the same set and a title from the Think Again set. Here are some closeup pictures. ...
