Playing with Mixed Media Marks and an Elephant

Image
Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here.  Today it was too sunny to be indoors so I grabbed some stamps, card and inks and set myself in a shaded corner of the garden.  I knew I wanted to use the lovely elephant from African Animals and I had an idea to add a little extra texture to him with one of the Mixed Media Marks stamps.  I think it turned out quite nicely. I made things easy by stamping the elephant on a separate piece of card and fussy cutting it.  I do like those additional circles!  I selected some of my brightest distress inks and used Mixed Media Marks and the rainbow from Pencil Marks 3 for the background, just randomly stamping with various colours until I thought it looked pretty.  The border is from the Mixed Media Borders set.  Elephants are so majestic and I always think they look like they are doing some serious thinking.  Except baby elephants!  They seem to enjoy looking mischievous.  The sentiment ...

A Love Story by Dot Leathbridge

Image
Hello everyone, It is the month of LOVE. So today I'm sharing an unlikely love story with you using Crazy Monsters and Inky Flowers. Love is in the air and there is beauty everywhere. Even among monsters! After all ... doesn't everyone deserve to be loved? I made a mask by folding a piece of copy paper in half and drawing half a heart along the folded edge and then cutting it out. When you open it you have the whole heart. This was placed on my gel plate and then some paint was rolled out. You'll need to carefully remove the mask before pulling a print. The pulled print was grungy which is what I wanted. I replaced the mask and added some DI around the edge so that the heart popped a little more. With the mask still in place I stamped the love word from Just A Note and added a heart into the white space. The monsters need all the love they can get, so I've added extra hearts from Just A Note and white embossed them. And here are the two lovers. The slug I decided to m...

Making presents with Things with Wings by Mariken

Image
Hi everyone,    Mariken here, and today it's all about tags and making a present. This time I've used  Mixed Media Marks , Things with Wings , Just a note and Round in Circles. I started making a background with acrylic paint and my gelliplate. Put some drops on the gelliplate.   With my fingers I made little dots on the plate and made a print.  Just a thin layer with acrylic paint and I've made a second print, a ghost print.   That's the one I love most!  Now it's time to make some tags, or circles... ... and add some marks with white embossing powder.   On a white paper I made a sheet full of colors with blendable inks or Distress inks.   Then I stamped the Things with Wings on this paper and cut them out. I've made my own wrappingpaper with tissuepaper and some stamps.  It corresponds with the tags so beautiful. I made some marks w...

Grungy Butterfly Get Well Card

Image
Hello Rubber Dance friends.  Gail here today.  I hope you are all keeping well, but for those of you feeling under the weather I have made a get well card with the lovely Grungy Butterfly and a quick and easy foil embossed background.   I searched the scraps bin and found this piece of watercolour paper that had some green and orange splats on it.  That gave me my colour scheme.  I stamped the largest Grungy Butterfly and fussy cut. I used a slightly textured cream base card and smeared the edges with Cracked Pistachio and Rusty Hinge distress inks. I embossed a piece of gold foil with a floral embossing folder and edged with black StazOn ink. Put it all together and add a sentiment from the Just a Note (norwegian words) on a left over scrap of the same paper I used for the butterfly.  I says get well soon. Hope you have enjoyed my project today.  Remeber to link up your makes using Rubber Dance stamp...
