The whole box of crayons : Art Journal spread

Image
Hi everyone, it's Liesbeth here again.  This time I would like to show you an art journal page using some Rubber Dance stamps.  As I'm very much in love with this couple (from the stamp sheet  Travel ),  I used them as the focal point. This is how I created these pages: Cover a journal spread with old bookpaper and add a layer of gesso.  Keep it translucent at the top of the page and more opaque at the bottom.  Add torn pieces of different washi tape as shown. Using black StazOn ink, stamp some text stamps here and there.  I used stamps from Travel and  Collage Mix Add structure with some stencils and molding paste. Let dry well. Stamp some circles  ( Round in circles ) Add colour by using Gelatos.  Blend the colours with a waterbrush. Accentuate some borders and edges and the circles by drawing with a black water soluble pencil and a waterbrush. Stamp the couple and t...

Altered Puzzle Piece and Tutorial

Hello everyone, it's Majo from the Design Team here at Rubber Dance Stamps, and today I want to show you an altered puzzle piece which I turned into a wall hanger. It always make a neat little present or give away. I started with Gesso on my puzzle piece and colored it after drying with Gelatos: I stamped my images and the sentiment on tissue paper and adhered it to the puzzle piece with napkin varnish. I colored a piece of watercolor cardstock with the same Gelatos, added some shine with Perfect Pearls "Biscotti" and punched hydrangeas in different sizes. I added some black dots with my Paper Pen: I added the hemp cord with some brads and ready is my little gift :) You can find the stamps here at the shop:   http://www.rubberdance.com I used the following stamps: Antique Botanicals     Affirmations   As a special treat, please use "MAJO2016" to receive a 15% dis...

Art Journaling with Susanne

Image
Hi my dear crafty friends. It's Susanne today and I have some step by step instructions for this Art Journal page. Let the fun begin: 1. Add some paper scraps to your page with Gel Medium an cover it with Gesso.  2. Emboss the spiral from the Round In Circles set. I used a piece of scrap paper to mask the lower part. 3. Add color with Brushos. I add the pigments to the page and spray water on top. The embossing acts as a resist. So the color will not stay on the spiral. 4. Add a little blue with the Gelato Cotton Candy. Blend the color with a wet finger.  5. Cut a mask for the spiral and stamp images arround it. I used the Travel, Alphabeth Uno and For The Birds set together with Archival Ink jet black. Add some doodling with a black marker. 6. Add more doodling with Pitt Pastel pencils. This adds more dynamic and interest to your page. 7. Stamp the bird onto tissue paper and adhere it with Gel Medium. Add some black splatters with a bl...
