Little Witch Card

Image
Hello and welcome to today's inspiration Monday. How is everyone? I enjoy and have a lot of fun creating cards, and if it's Halloween-themed, even more. I hope you like it.  I have been playing with Rubber Dance's   Mixed media marks ,  Grungy Sequins  ,  Boo to You    and   Little Witch . To begin with, I have cut a circle with scalloped edges in watercolor paper. I add color like a watercolor with the pigments. When I get the desired shades I let it dry or I help myself with a heat gun.I add stamps and embossing in white to the background One of the most fun parts of the creative process for me is coloring and cutting. This time I have colored with watercolor pencils. Now it's time to arrange the elements to finish the composition. Here are several photos of the project so you can appreciate the details. Here are the  Rubber Dance Stamps I used: Mixed media marks   Little Witch . Boo to You Grungy Sequins I hope you enjoyed and d...

Touch the sky - mixed media art journal spread

Image
Hi! Guest designer Melina here. Today I have a step-by-step tutorial to share with you. First I put gesso on the spread. I started with the background using distress crayons that I blended out  with a wet finger. Then I took a stencil and removed the color in some places  using a baby wipe.  After that some background stamping with grey Versafine ink. In the next step I stamped three faces on watercolor paper and then drew  some whimsical figures. I painted the dresses with watercolor. I cut out my little ladies and did some doodling on their dresses with a black permanent pen. Also used a white pen and punched out three hearts that  I glued down. I stamped some wings and cut them out as well. I glued the ladies and the  wings to the spread with gel medium. I finished by doodling their hair and  adding the quote. Hope you liked my whimsical spread and thanks for stopping by! ...

Let's Dance with Rubber Dance all over an Art Journal page

Image
Hello my dear creative friends, it's Anita here today to show you step by step how to make an Art Journal page, like this: As you know an art journal is a kind of a private journal, and many of the great artists had an art journal where they sketched and wrote down their big ideas. Often an art journal page would be a bit messy, and have some writing. And that is what I show you today. Everything is allowed in an art journal. As you can see I found some beautiful pictures in a magazine which I tore out and glued down on my page. That is also allowed, to find something beautiful and use it in your own art. Not copy it but just as a part of your own art. If you copy someone else's art you have to credit her/him. Okay, so here we go: Step 1:   Find some nice pictures in a magazine an tear them out and glue them down on your page. Step 2: Let dry, then use some clear gesso all over your page. Clear gesso to not hide the nice pictures you h...

Fear nothing - Mixed Media ATCs

Image
Hi! Guest designer Melina here.  I´ve made some ATCs and have a step-by-step tutorial for you. I started with a paper I made while playing with my daughter. You need acrylic paint, water and a little bit of dish soap in a mug. Take a straw and blow bubbles, and then put your paper on the bubbles to catch the paint. I cut the paper to size (2,5" x 3,5"), and stamped the backgrounds .  I ended up using 6 of the cards for this post. Made some splashes with white gesso blended with water. I also used the gesso/water to lighten up the middle of the cards for the faces to show better. I picked some small paper flowers from my stash and glued them down with gel medium. I colored the flowers with the same acrylic paints that I used on the background paper. I blended them with water, and also sprayed water on the flowers, so the color should bleed out and blend well on the flowers. Here are the other 4 cards. On the ...
