Bibi's CAS Challenge Sunshine Card

If you are looking for our May challenge winners, please click here.

Hello everyone! If you know me, you know that clean and simple cards are not my strongest side - especially clean (ahem), as I'm all for messy projects with lots colours and ink splashes. However, I do love a good challenge!

This week I'm happy to sponsor CASology, which is a challenge blog that is all about Clean And Simple (CAS). This week, their challenge's theme is SUNSHINE and you'll see my sunny CAS card below - but first, I'll let CASology introduce themselves:

Welcome to CASology!

Each week, we'll study clean and simple design using a cue word as our inspiration.  The design team will share their CAS creations and a little bit about their designs to inspire you to create a clean and simple card of your own!

Weekly challenges begin Tuesday mornings.
  1. Interpret the word on the weekly cue card however you'd like!  This is about creativity!
  2. Link up your *new* creation (card, tag, scrapbook layout, etc.) here on the CASology blog.
  3. Please add a link back to us on your blog post when submitting your creation.
  4. Please feel free to combine this challenge with other challenges.
  5. Be creative.
  6. Keep it simple.
  7. Have fun!
All submissions are due Mondays at noon, CST/CDT.

(That's 19:00 here in Scandinavia and continental Europe, 18:00 in the UK)

For my Sunshine Challenge card, I wanted to show that a card can look pretty nice with just a stamped sentiment, which I have white embossed to make it stand out from the yellow cardstock. It looked TOO clean and simple for me, though.... so I used a stencil to add some sun beams and then balanced the layout with three white pearls on the diagonal side of the card:

This sunshine sentiment is from the stamp sheet called Think Againand I believe that we CAN create "sunshine" by how we think. Sure, it can be quite a challenge and it takes training, but it IS possible to change our feelings by changing our thoughts. I do speak of experience - lots of experience.... I don't want to wander too much off topic here - this is, after all, a stamping blog - but if you'd like to see which three things that have played an important role in changing my life (or how I feel about it), you can read a short article about it here.   (I'm not affiliated with that site in any way, just wanted to share in case it can help someone else, too).  I'm not saying that I'm never sad, hurt or angry, (hey, I'm human!), just that I don't let those feelings linger on for too long, thus end up controlling my life.

Now, back to CAS cards! If you haven't done so already, do pop over to the CASology blog and see all the beautiful cards that their creative team has made with my stamps! If you thought Rubber Dance was all about artsy mixed media, Think Again ;-) I loved seeing their sample cards with my stamps - used quite differently than what my DT and I usually make. Isn't that awesome? I think it is! :-)))

Let me know what you think of my CAS card by leaving a comment below, why don'tcha? Thanks in advance! You know I appreciate your input. Well, you know now, anyway! ;-)

This quote is not mine (author unknown), but I made the image. Download and use as you wish:

With a loving smile,
Bibi

WoW, Bibi! I love Your card!! It is so Bright and cheerful. I could not agree more about what you say about always look at the Bright side - for not getting the door in the face every day. I'm there too, so I know exactly what you're talking about.I hope you have good days and more to come! I really appreciate you and I see you as a very good friend. You have enormous mass of knowledge and a big heart. Such good characteristics can be difficult to find nowadays.
Big hug, Anita ♥
A delightful and "simple" card, with a good quote.
It's a good article you refer to, we've all been a place of despair, so it's good words to read.
Hugs, Susan

Wonderful card! And I know how hard CAS is to make for those of us that love to create messy, textured and layered pieces of goodness, so I think you ROCKED this!!
