Artsy Textured Flower Cards by Ellie Knol

Image
For todays' cards I, Ellie, chose to work in a bit of a CAS style as the background matched these stamps so beautifully, and as far as I am concerned, any extra color would distract from the beauty of the stamps.    The steps are not too difficult:  Start out by stamping the flowers and leaves you think you might want to use onto white cardstock and fussy cut them.  Stamp the flower images onto a background. This background is a cleanup page of paints off the brayer used while monoprinting/gelliprinting.  I was not sure whether I would use the fussycut images, but could lay them onto the background to choose whether I wanted to have a white flower, or the stamped-onto-the-colorful-background version.  To make it pop, I decided to adhere two fussy cut flowers, and leave the other one with just the stamping on the background.  The second card started out the same as the first one.  Adhere part of the background of both cards around the folded edge t...

Colorful Cards

Image
Hello creative friends!  How are you all keeping?  Vero (@vero.kt) is here with two new colorful cards that I hope you like.  I have been playing with some of the new stamps.  Mixed media marks  and  Believe in You . Very easy to do, we start. We cut watercolor paper to the size we want. In my case, the paper is smooth and hot pressed.  The next step is to color with different oxide inks, (as if they were watercolors) to gradually form the background. To give that gloss effect to inks that are matte, I have added perfect perls powders to the water. When the backgroud dries, I emboss in white, choose one of the stamps from the set  Mixed media marks  and  Grungy Stuff  . Now we add textures and depth with black permanent ink, prints here and there.  I have also used to stamp oxide inks. After stamping and coloring, the funniest part comes, the composition and we would finish wit...

Simplicity Sunday - Card by Dot

Image
It is Simplicity Sunday over on the Rubber Dance blog . Today it's my turn for a little inspiration. The stamps used are all from Dancing Star. The background in the center panel is from some left-over scraps when playing with Distress Oxides. We all have a little stash of left-overs don't we? They come in handy sometimes. The background took a little working out on some scrap paper. But the swirls and background fit beautifully when you stamp twice down on one side, once across the top and once across the bottom, and then twice down the other side. I then trimmed the card and coloured in the stars and swirls. The words are from the same set too. I had to add 're to the word you so that it reads correctly. Stamps played with are from: Dancing Star Other Products Used: Distress Oxides Jane Davenport markers Thank you so much for stopping by today. Happy Stamping! Dot x

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards

Image
How to make a pile of cards in less than an hour! Hey everyone! If you are in need of a bunch of cards, I'll show you how to make them real quick and easy. Most of my cards took between 5 to 10 minutes to make! Sometimes we might want to spend a whole day making just one elaborated card, but now that December is here for real, some of us are running out of time ... It's better to send a simple card than none at all, right? Most of my cards were made using stamps from the Rubber Dance set called Watercolour Xmas . If you don't have that one, look in your stash and see what you can find that would work for the easy technique I've used. I bet you have some stamps that will work! (Or order them here - you should have them within a week if you live in Europe, unless the postal service is really slow right now). You will need watercolour paper for this technique. It doesn't have to be an expensive brand. If you don't have any watercolour paper,...
