Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

Hello.  Gail here today with an oldie but goodie technique.  Actually, one of my teamies said she had never tried this so I thought it might be a fun idea to re-explore.  I had forgotten how fun it is to grab some tape, some paint, some inks and stamps and make something unique and special.  Making your own tape also means you can colour and theme match to your project.   Here's one of the two cards I have made so far using my hand made tape  and the gorgeous Giraffe stamp.   I started by sticking some tape to the back of my cutting mat.  From the top, 1 and 2 are blue painters tape and 3, 4, 5 and 6 are masking tape.  Then basically you colour your tape and stamp away with different colours and stamps until you are happy with the result.  Rubber Dance stamp sets contain so many small detailed stamps you are sure to find the perfect ones to fit your projects, or use part of a large stamp to add interesting patterns....

Happy New Year stampers! Craftyfield here again today to show you an inspiration piece for the January Challenge . I loved the mood board photo and I knew immediately what I wanted to create, I just had to find the techniques and supplies that would turn my vision into a recognisable Winter Frost image! My base cardstock is pearlised card which I thought would be ideal to evoke the glint of frost (unfortunately not showing at all in the above picture). I stamped several branches from the Weed Love set by using an overall coating of Versamark on the stamps and adding red and brown with Zig markers. I then heat embossed with clear powder and, where I hadn't applied colours, the white of the paper is protected for the next step. It's very nearly time for that (beloved or dreaded - take your pick!) time of year again! So I've got a festive make for you today - a sweet little Christmas decoration. I am a bit obsessed lately with sticking things into/onto ATB (artist trading block) boxes (if you follow by blog you'll no doubt have noticed!). So here's Mr Frosty from the Frosty Friends set perched on top of his very own wintry box. Here's how I made him: Die cut the smallest ATB (or use any box template you may have). Spray with Distress Sprays in Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Salty Ocean. Add a little Faded Jeans here and there for a darker tone. Flick liberally with water to create 'bleached' areas all over - to do this, cup a little bit of water in your hand then open your hand over the inked card in a flicking motion.
