Technique Thursday - Easy Painted Flowers by Sue

Image
Good afternoon and happy Thursday. It's Sue here to show you how I colour my flowers really quickly and easily. I know that some people love to colour, and shade, and highlight, and I think it looks fantastic, but I can't do it, and I'm not prepared to put in the hours to learn! Sooo I needed an alternative, and this is one that I learned from the lovely Tracy Scott (and she's very happy for me to share)   You simply finger paint patches of colour onto you card. It doesn't have to be in circles, that's just the way this one worked out. I was a bit dubious at first about using my fingers, but it's easy and fun!   I've started with opaque colour and then gone on to more translucent ones.   And I've filled in any gaps with a translucent yellow, 'cos this is my happy colour and it makes a new colour where it overlaps.   I've also made a green one for my leaves.   Then I've stamped away, covering ever...

CAS-ual Friday card with Asia

Image
Hello everyone and happy Friday to you all!  Weekend is almost here, so cool! And today I wanted to show you an easy and quick card I've created with gorgeous Rubber Dance stamps sets- Antique Botanicals, Think Again & Crazy Flowers #2. As I said before the card is really easy to make- perfect project for Friday evening;) You need a cardstock, background layer of paper which I painted in yellow and green and white top layer of paper. I stamped the flowers and leaves on the watercolor paper and before I fussy-cut them I added the colors. Firstly I sprayed on some water, then applied Lindy's sprays with a brush. I added few shades of each colors to get more watercolor effect and after drying it all I fussy cut it. Flowers were adhered to the card with 3D foam tape, leaves- with a tacky glue and this way I got more dimension. Then I added some navy blue berries, few drops of Glossy accents which looks like a morning dew and a word "Love...

Tutorial Tuesday - Watercolour Card by Debs

Image
Hi everyone, Debs here with a pretty little card.  First I stamped the corners using stamps from Flower Power and then added my feature from Cone Flowers I restamped the feature onto tissue paper and cut it out. I placed this over the original stamping to mask it and added the leaves from Crazy Flowers #2. When you remove the mask you have your leaves in the background. I added some line work where it was missing and heat set it all. I used watercolours in the background, by gently wetting the page and adding the colours in layers to build up the depth. I then dried it before working on the flowers in the same way.  Lastly I added the sentiment from Bling Bling. Here are some close-ups: The stamps I used are shown below Crazy Flowers #2 Cone flowers Flower power Bling Bling ...

Technique Thursday- adding texture with modeling paste stamping

Image
Hi everyone, It's Asia here with a modeling paste stamping technique. I prepared for you a small photo tutorial, so let's start:) I used two pieces of paper (250g/m²), a little smaller than ATC size. I spread on them modeling paste and let it to settle for few minutes (you can actually get the similar effect with white gesso, but I decided to use here modeling paste:)  After the paste dried a little, I stamped it with beautiful leaves stamp from Rubber Dance- Crazy Flowers #2. First time my stamping did not worked as well as I would like it, but after removing a little of paste from the cards and stamping again, it worked perfectly. Remember to wash your stamps as quickly as possible after stamping on paste or gesso! Next step was to add colors. I used Lindy's Magicals- with powders I had more control of where the colors go and how strong they are. To achieve that, I sprayed water over the tags, then added powder and then, where needed, I spread i...
