Happy Winter - Shaker Card by Susanne
Hi my dear Rubber Dance Friends!
I have some instructions for you today how you can make a lovely Christmas shaker card. I used the brand new Frosty Friends stamp set from Rubber Dance and also the Music Notes background stamp. By the way, a lot of stamps are now available in the Rubber Dance Store as single stamps, too! You can choose, if you want them mounted or not. You will save 15% on your next order if you use "susanne2015" during the checkout process! Shipping is free on all orders over 35€.
I started by creating the front layer. I took some turquoise blue cardstock and masked a circle which was slightly bigger than the window I wanted to cut out later. I used some washi tape to mask the edges. The Music Notes were stamped with jet black archival ink.
I drew some light marks on my card base to know where my main image has to be and stamped the lovely Winter Bird with jet black Archival Ink (I used heavy weight watercolor paper for the card). I colored the image with Distress Inks and Markers.
I wanted to give my front layer a more wintery look, so I added a thin layer of gesso as well as some snowflakes with chunky white embossing enamel from Stampendous.
I distressed the edges with a scissors and adhered a clear plastic sheet to the back.
As I had not enough foam tape I used some foam rubber to build the shaker window. I cut it a little bit bigger than the window in my front layer. I adhered it with doublesided tape to my card and filled it with some glitter pieces. I used sequinces, snowflakes, glitter and micro beads.
Now it was time to adhere the front layer. I decorated it with the Bird Song die from Die-Namites. Their dies are really good quality. I've never had any problems cutting them although they are very intricate! I added some color to the die cut with Distress Markers. You can save 15% on your next order in the Die-Namites Dies Online Store using "susanne15" during checkout. They have free shipping on all orders over $25.
The "Happy Winter" is embossed with silver embossing powder.
And then: SHAKE IT!
It's really easy doing shaker cards! Don't be afraid to try it. They are looking so beautiful!
I wish you a nice day! See you soon, Susanne.

Love your card, so many neat details - the stamped music notes for one. So pretty!
I must give this a try, been ages since I made a shaker card.
Thank you so much!
