Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

Hi everyone! When I first joined this week's CASology challenge a couple of days ago ( here ), I started another card right afterwards. I just love the theme this week - STITCH - so here's my 2nd entry: The only stamp used is the vintage spool from the Sew Sweet set. I stitched a black thread going from the spool thought the stitched frame (die from Elizabeth Craft Design), and the thread hangs loose up to the black button where I tied an extra knot. The text is computer made. My card was made out of three different white cardstock (slightly different hues), and two of the panels were raised up with foam tape for added interest. I wrote a personal note inside and will place the card on my sweetheart's work desk so he'll see it when he comes home from work ♥ (This way, my card serves two purposes - maybe even three if I get lucky.... hawhaw!) I feel a bit surrounded by all things festive at the moment so instead of something Christmassy I decided to create a little sewing box using the Sew Sweet stamps for today's tutorial. Even though it's not seasonal it would make a great gift I think! So that's my tenuous link! My mojo has been very sadly lacking lately so I decided to go back to my comfort zone of blue, cream and brown this month. My box has soft colours and a slightly vintage feel to it. I did some distressing but kept it fairly minimal as I wanted my box to still be pretty and feminine; not too grungy. To start with I painted a MDF box with chalk paint (Americana Chalky Finish in Serene). It only needs one coat - this stuff is fab! When dry sand the edges to reveal the buff colour of the MDF beneath and to give the box a more distressed look. Hello my dear crafty friends! It's Irit from the Design Team here. Welcome to my Rubber Dance   tutorial post. Today I am going to show you how to make a stamped card with a lot of stamps, inks,  cardstock   and some very small embellishments and to make it three dimensional, fancy and full of life without any patterned paper or special mediums. So I used a bunch of stamps from Rubber Dance new released set called Sew Sweet. First I made a stamped background with a mix of stamps from this set and  4 colors of permanent inks. Then I stamped smaller pieces and hand cut them as they will be used for the front cluster over the card. For the next step I inked all pieces and my background with 3 distress brown inks. I added twine over the cut out small spools and the lace over the large spool and connected the lace with 2 pearled pins. Hello my crafty friends! Majo from the Design Team here. Welcome to my Rubber Dance tutorial post. Today I am going to show you how to turn a dull cigar box with a lot of stamps and some embellishments into a beautiful treasure box to keep for yourself or to give away. There is much room in the box, so someone will be a very happy person ;) I started with Gesso to make the surface even. I used two shades of Brown and a tad of Red, since I knew my lace was going to be red. I stamped all my images from the Set SEW SWEET on white card stock and cut them simply with scissors. I distressed the edges with Walnut Stain and set them aside. I randomly stamped a few images on Design paper and also stamped the "tape measure"  on Sticky Canvas. The criss cross stitching is from our " Stitch & Frame " Set I added sticky lace all around the lid of the box and decided against an knob or something else to open it, it is easy the way ...

Hellooooo, stampers! It's Bibi here today (the owner of Rubber Dance) to show you stuff I've made with some new stamps! Yessss, brand new ones - and you saw them here first! DT Katy has done it again - this time she has designed two sets of stamps, and let me begin with this one: A very cool set of sewing themed stamps that we've called "Sew Sweet".  I made this card for a friend's birthday. She likes to sew so I think she'll like it. The birthday stamp is also a Katy design (from the "Happy Birthday" set). This is what the new set looks like. Isn't that cool? I love these!!
