Stars are for Wishing

Hello crafty friends. It's Sam here with my final guest designer make. I've had great fun and thank you so much for all the wonderful comments and to Bibi for making me feel so welcome here :) I've had so much fun using the { Affirmations } stamp set again but this time I used a deep edged canvas and my inspiration was the stamps and a song, a Disney song which I'm sure you all know. It's quite difficult to do this write up because I made this a couple of weeks ago and as soon as my daughter saw this she claimed it as her own and took it away lol. Like my previous makes I began with a coat of black gesso and then where colour paints were going to go I painted white gesso, this keeps the colours nice and bright. I used one of my favourite colour combinations and used Martha Stewart paints: Raspberry Ice and Blue Sky and Claudine Hellmuth: Purple Palette. I used a Dylusions star stencil for the star details, some Stickles for glitter and some sequin s...

Doggy Day Dreams

Hello crafty friends!  Here is my second guest designer piece to share and I have to confess to getting a little carried away but having great fun at the same time. I often craft to sound track of Poppy snoring! I started off this project with an 8in x 8in piece of mount board and added some texture paste through various stencils to add some texture, when this was dry I gave it a coat of black gesso, then where I was going to add colour I painted white gesso. This keeps the colours nice and bright and really pop off the ...

Make A Wish

Hello! My name is Sam and I'm so excited to be guest designing for Rubber Dance this month :) I've chosen to work with the wonderful stamp set Affirmations which you can find right { here } at the Rubber Dance shop. I just love to make small decorations to hang around my home and make it pretty so I began this little project by cutting a star shape from a piece of mount board. Mount board is a fantastic base to work on it's very sturdy and accepts a lot of different mediums beautifully and it's super smooth. I applied some modelling paste through a stencil to get some texture then I painted my star with black gesso and then white gesso where the colours were going to be. (The coloured paints I used are Martha Stewart paints and the colours are: Pond. Rubber Ducky and Raspberry Ice). Doing this keeps the colours bright and they pop off the black background. I stamped 'make a wish' three times on white tissue paper and pva'd in place. The tissu...
