Rubber Dance Art Stamps - Blog

Hi everyone Debs here with one of my how tos, and this week I’m focusing on recycling packaging. You know that stuff that comes in boxes along with your goods to hold it all in place. This pieces is 8x12 and about 1/2in thick, it’s not solid, as it has strips of card sandwiched between outer layers of card, and is quite sturdy. I gave the substrate a coat of white Gesso first to seal it, and provide a light hue base upon which to work. Wanting more layers of acrylic paint I chose Fresco Finish from Paper Artsy in mauves, blues and greens. I built up several layers of the paint and then with the end of my paint brush I added some scraffiti  And then dried it thoroughly with a heat gun. Next I used water colours by  Zig Kuretake GansaiTambi  in the same hues, and with my water gun made the paint drip and run. I then flicked on some gold, as well as adding some to the edges. Hi everyone, Donna with you today sharing a card featuring stamping on teabags...great fun :) I steeped the teabags in hot water for a few minutes, squeezed them out, cut them open and then left them to dry overnight. Once they were dry I removed all the tealeaves to just leave the empty bag. You can re use any teabags but I wouldn't use any that you have had in a cup with milk or sugar. I wanted to keep a nature theme to the whole card so I used some stamps from the sets  Weed Love ,  A Little Birdie ,  Antique Botanicals  and stamped them directly onto the teabags using black  Archival ink  and then added some doodling with a white  Posca pen . You'd be amazed by how easy it is to stamp on the teabags and what a clear impression you get too. Once that was done, I started adding all the other little bits and pieces including  Tim Holtz paperie , washi tape, coconut buttons and a little twig. You can have a little look through your ow...

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Mail art tutorial made for Rubber Dance blog. This is my second recycled envelope only; I am just on my learning curve, but I think that the result looks fine. So here is my tutorial and remember to recycle your envelops as thing is good for the Earth and for all of us. STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS: 1.Find a good thick  used envelope and open it from inside. Cover it with a thin layer of gesso (not shown here) and let it dry. Paint over the gesso with a mix of Gel Medium based paints. I used Earth Safe Finishes Iridescents paints here, but any shiny semi translucent paint will work. While your paints are pretty wet wipe  some paint with baby wipe to leave this distressed white space look. 2.
