Humming Greetings Cards

Image
Hi everyone! Here is the second batch of artwork made by guest designer Ellie Knol. For these cards, Ellie has used the humming bird stamp from our set called Vintage Birds and the stamp called Vintage Script. The backgrounds are either photos or part of greeting cards - such a clever way to make a beautiful background! Stamp the bird, and color it with a watercolor pencil to coordinate with the background. Cut the bird out and color the edges with a dark color to make it pop. Adhere bird to card with pop-dots for more depth. Ellie used the Vintage Script stamp on all the cards to add interest. On this card,  Ellie used some vellum between the card and the bird. You can still see the stamped script on the cardstock  through it. To see more of Ellie's beautiful artwork, visit her blog and enjoy the view :-) Thank you for stopping by today! xo, Bibi The Rubber Dance web shop is open 24/7: www.rubberdance.com

Ellie Knol Mixed Media Cards

Image
Hi everyone! Ellie Knol gladly accepted my invitation to guest design, and today I want to show you some beautiful cards she made using stamps from the set called Vintage Birds, and the background stamp called Vintage Script. I think these cards are really cool and I hope you will like them as much as I do! A closer look at some details:    Start off with a suitable piece of scrapbook paper. Both feathers have been heat embossed in black. I added some cheese cloth,  photo-film, a frame covered with some texture paste, and used a stencil to add texture with the same texture paste. I stamped some script in the background with black ink and white gesso.  Ellie also made this beautiful ATC!  Feather stamped with various colors of Distress inks. Backround is sponged with Distress inks (partially with stencils). Stamped script in the background to add interest.  And last, but not least, this adorable card with eggs in a n...
