Easter Card, Distress Oxides and Crayons, Dot

Image
Hi everyone, Dot here.  Today I've made an Easter card for you.  Easter seems to be sneaking up on us so I thought it might be nice to use some eggs. The eggs, swirls and spots are from ' Gather Together ' stamp set and the  feather is from the 'Birdies' set. The background was simply made by swiping card through Distress Oxide ink's on a craft sheet. Some stamping with oxides and a little white gel pen to finish off with. The eggs on the other hand are stamped with Distress Crayons! This is a super fun way to stamp and these eggs were ideal for this technique. Here is a closer look at the eggs. I chose to use 3 shades of blue crayons and then around the edge I added some dark brown crayon. They've been left plain because to me they looked beautiful just the way they are. The Gather Together stamp set took me by surprise when I had a real close look at it. The flourish is absolutely GORGEOUS! And there are s...

Easter Decoration Detour

Happy Easter, everyone! It's Bibi here with a couple of projects that have very little in common ... I don't know if this ever happens to you: You have a plan in your mind of what you're going to make, and all is fine and hunky-dory until something or the other   happens along the way and you end up making a completely different thingamabob instead. Sound familiar?  My plan was to alter a plain paint brush ... Little did I know that the first step would take me on a detour ..... I wanted to colour the metal plate with alcohol inks,  so I masked off the sides (wood and brush part) with some regular clear tape .... .... started to add the ink...., then THIS caught my attention! Whuuut?  Look - something pretty emerged on the tape! I really liked how the alcohol inks looked on the clear tape.  With an attention span like mine, you know I had to experiment some more right away ...  Set that paint bru...

Easter Home Decor

Image
Hi everyone! It's Susanne today and I like to share with you some Easter decoration I created for myself. I used a styrofoam heart and a egg and of course the beautiful Rubber Dance stamps. I started by stamping the images on a big piece of tissue paper. I used black Archival Ink, because it is waterproof. I cut the little images apart and ripped the bigger ones into smaller pieces. I put the styrofoam pieces on a spear. I adhered the paper savings with Mod Podge® to the styrofoam. It's important to start on the edges of the heart and on the top and bottom side of the egg. So you'll get a beautiful image in the middle. After everything was dry I paint some acrylic paint randomly onto the heart and the egg. I used a color called "butter". I add some ribbons to finish it up. I love the result. It looks totally shabby chic. The stamps are working so well with this theme and I'm sure this would also be a nice gift idea for the spring season. ...
