Textured Flowers & StarTrish Design Canvas

Image
Hello stampers, Craftyfield here with a larger than usual project. When I saw Bibi's collab projects ( here and here ) with  Trish Latimer 's StarTrish Design stamps and her own Textured Flowers I was tickled... I had already decided that these designs belonged together and was planning a piece of my own. So this is my contribution to this collaboration! The background is inspired by Trish's process, although obviously I made it my own with "my" colours, motifs and foreground scene! My substrate is a humble box lid, but it is canvas size at 28 x 32 cms (11 x 12 1/2 inches) and will be in constant use during my crafting hours as it will hold some of my stash... Background: I smeared the paints in layers over some White Tinting base, using a brayer first and my fingers at the end. The stencilling and lid printing was also done with acrylic paints whilst the stamping has all been done with Archival ink. Finally ...

CASology #209: Watercolor - by Bibi

Image
When I saw that this week's challenge at CASology was watercolour, I knew right away that I wanted to join! I love colouring stamped images with watercolours, and I had just received one of Trish Latimer's new stamps that I was eager to use. My watercoloured CAS card, featuring Whimsygirl #3: I stamped the Whimsygirl on smooth watercolour paper with black waterproof ink. I placed a few drops of ink from Distress Sprays Stains on my watercolour mixing tray and coloured her hair and leggings with Twisted Citron, her dress and hair ribbons with Picked Raspberry, skin with diluted Tea Dye, and finally added some pink cheeks using the Picked Raspberry again. After the paint was completely dry, I placed a negative mask over the dress so I could add some flowers and stars (both from Rubber Dance's Textured Flowers ), and repeated the stars above her head. The text (from For the Birds ) was stamped on a piece of watercolour paper and popped up with foam dots ...

Rubber Dance meets StarTrish Design - Part II

Image
Hi there! It's Bibi popping in today to show you some more artwork where Trish Latimer and I have combined our stamps (if you missed the first post, you can find it here ). The photos below have been posted on Facebook and Trish's blog, but knowing you're not all on FB or following her blog, I wanted to show them here as well. WordGilr #3 from StarTrish Design, Textured Flowers from Rubber Dance. I stamped the WordGirl and big flowers on old book pages , added watercolouring using Inktense pencils, cut them out and adhered to the background with decoupage glue. I painted some shadows on one side of the images to make them pop a bit from the background. Fun fact: I didn't pay any attention to what the text on the old book pages said, but some of the words that I can see on the girl's face are "freedom", "flirt" and "real feelings". - I guess her big dreams are of the romantic nature! ♥ Trish has a series of videio tutor...

Rubber Dance meets StarTrish Design!

Image
Hello everyone! It's Bibi here today to show you some awesome stamps that are NOT from Rubber Dance! As a stamp manufacturer myself and the owner of Rubber Dance, it has been years since I went shopping for stamps anywhere else..... However! When I saw that Trish Latimer had launched the first stamps from her own designs, I nearly fell off my chair in excitement!!! Her stamps - which you can see here - are quite big: 12 cm tall (!) and I knew right away that they would be a perfect match with the big flower stamps on Rubber Dance's set  Textured Flowers . I contacted Trish and we decided to do a collaboration..... .... and I'm proud to show you one of the gorgeous artworks that Trish has made,  and y ou can also see her  blog post about it here . Below are the very first cards that I made with two of Trish's adorable WordGirl stamps and some Textured Flower stamps from my own company (designed for Rubber Dance by DT member Susanne Rose). I received...
