My Mutant Monarch

Image
Hello everyone! I have made another wall hanging, this time with two challenges in mind;  the very first hosted by EyeConnect Crafts - theme is "Butterflies",  and the other one at Norwegian blog Hjerteboden - theme is "Feathers". My Mutant Monarch - is it a butterfly or is it a king? It's both! Some close-ups: The "king" (or paper doll stamp) is mounted on the tag with foam dots  and the butterfly wings are bent up and curled. The real Monarch Butterfly has white dots on its wings, but I went with Glitter Dots in pink and blue: KING was spelled with some miniature alphabet stamps (manufacturer unknown). They are stamped flat and made to look raised up by painting some shadow on two sides: Below is the Lace-Up Tag chipboard from EyeConnect Crafts before I added a thin layer of Gesso, then Distress inks in several colours. Notice on the photo above that I added lines with Copper Stickles around the holes so they ...

Everyone is unique in his own way

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my Steampunk inspiration made for you with Rubber Dance Art stamps, EyeConnect crafts and DecoArt Media products. This is Irit from Rubber Dance team and today I am going to share the most odd project that I love a lot. I didn't make a tutorial for this whimsy flying scull, but I  made a photo of most of the products used to make it. As you can see a lot of Rubber Dance stamps were used to make this project.  The whole piece was first painted, them stamped and heat embossed with copper powder. Then I added more paints and more stamping and the layers were done. Finally I added a lot of metal pieces to make the scull look a bit more " human". The EyeConnect Crafts pieces were connected with brads and wire and the wings move as you can understand.  The sentiment is self expressive: anyone is unique in his own way, even if you are just a scull. Stamps from Rubber Dance used to make this pi...

Hello.  Welcome. Gail from the design team here with my debut post on the Rubber Dance International blog.  Actually I'm bilingual blogging today.  This post is also on the Scandanavian blog , in Norwegian, in case that is your preferred language LOL.   I always think  February is a bit of a paradox.  The shortest month that sometimes seems to go on and on, whilst still managing to wizz past leaving you wondering where it went!  Soon March!!  T oday I want to show you the clock I made for the Rubber Dance and EyeConnect blog hop. I've had some questions. I s that a clock ? Yes. Does it work ? Yes , as long as you only need to know approximately what time it is ....... I started with an IKEA clock. A rectangular plastic base with an image of an alarm clock on . The hands go round .......... I dismantled the whole clock.   I stamped Rubber Dance Round in Circles and embossed in whit...

Got an Old Paint Brush? Make a Fun Wall Hanging!

Image
Hi everyone! Bibi here today with a quick tutorial on how I made this wall hanging: Products I've used: Da Vinci stamps from Rubber Dance Old paint brush, red wire, ribbon and embellishments Lace-Up Tags  (chipboards) from EyeConnect Crafts What's unique with the chipboards from EyeConnect Crafts is that they have holes punched into them so you can connect them, using eyelets, brads, twine, ribbons, etc. Instructions: Stamp Da Vinci's women onto the tags with red ink. Notice that I also added some mica flakes on the edges: To make these cool hoop rings, I used a piece of red wire and twirled it around a brush: Slide the wire spiral off the brush, cut it up on one side - et voilá! I used the same technique to make larger rings. I had an old paint brush that I tied my connected tags to. Can't remember whether that's white paint or Gesso, but it had dried and ruined the brush. Don't toss those out! (I ...
