Christmas card

Hello crafters, this is Craftyfield guesting again with what I hope is a funny card.

First let me tell you about the stamp set I used, the Textured Feathers. As soon as I received it, I had a play... It's a good thing to do in order to familiarise yourself with the stamps and find what it can do. Here's the lowdown on what I found: there are 3 sizes of feathers and
  •  the largest 2 sizes come in 3 styles : a solid feather, an outline and a textured feather.
  •  the textured feather is effectively a mirror shape of the other 2.
  •  the smallest size has a solid and outline image and they mirror each other.
Mixing and matching the styles you can create feathers with a different look and on my card I mainly used the solid feathers for a soft look, but chose to add the outline to the foreground feather.

What can you do with the stand alone feather? Of course you can stamp it on its own, and colour it with your medium of choice, but I was really excited to discover that I could use the Kissing technique by combining it with the solid image. Well there's always next time...

I have inked the solid stamps with a mixture of inks, Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass Distress, London fog and Black Memento. I used black on the foreground outline feather.

I made some masks by cutting out several copies of the large and medium solid feathers and used them with removable adhesive to stamp from foreground to background.
To avoid any errors I did a dry run and numbered my feathers so I wouldn't make a stupid mistake later on...

And again I found myself with a very clean card so I decided to throw some paint at it! I used both watercolours and Distress inks for this, after protecting the feathers with the masks and extra pieces of paper where I wanted to retain the white.

Finally the sentiment is computer printed as I had no stamps to say this! I hope you get the joke and find it funny...

Whilst I'm here I will wish you all a happy, relaxing and crafty Christmas,

Thank you, Craftyfield! ♥ Your card is fantastic!! I love how light the feathers look, as if they falling softly to the ground. Love the colourful splatters, too. I'm glad you discovered how fun these feathers are, and that one can mirror the other.
I wish you a very happy Christmas - with a gobble-gobble on the menu, perhaps? We usually have turkey for New Year's Eve, but I think it's becoming more and more popular for Christmas dinner here in Norway as well.
Thanks again! xx
